What is a free mason?? /need advice?

Mormons or Masons? We have both here, as you know.

I imagine that you could call one of the lodges in town and ask for more information. I've seen a blue Lodge here and, of course, the Scottish Rite.

Kenny, could you cite your source for this? First of all, Theosophists were not Satanists and secondly, this sounds a great deal like that Procter & Gamble urban folktale.

Sure, but Madame Blavatski assigned new meanings to every term and name she used. Have you ever read anything by her?? Please trust me when I tell you that Madame Blavatsky herself was the heart of and soul of Theosophy. It was all about her and Theosophy isn't thriving without her. She was the P.T. Barnum or L. Ron Hubbard of religion.

I've read Madame Blavatsky and at no time did I intend to give you the impression that she wasn't an occultist. She didn't believe what she wrote, but what she wrote was occultic in nature. As a matter of fact, I told you if you wanted reliable links to any other occult belief systems, I would do my best to find you good ones.

Kenny, are you under the impression that all occultists worship Satan, or are we miscommunicating somehow?

The U.N. does a lot of its printing by the LUCIS Trust. Do you know that "Lucis" was changed from "Lucifer"?
Should it matter that the Lucis Trust was originally a Theosophical organization which worships Lucifer? Should it matter if a Lucis Trust person doesn't know the real origin of the organization?

The answer to this question is pretty easy because the Lucis Trust is still a Theosophical organization; it's just given itself a face lift by getting rid of Madame Blavatsky's books and calling themselves "New Age".

Should the member be held accountable for being a member of the Lucis Trust? Should the person do his/her research to discover the TRUTH of the Lucis Trust?

Obviously, little research is required. As a matter of fact, they hawk books and classes to their members. They don't seem to be hiding anything to me.


Although we've gotten totally off-topic, Let me ask you one more question, if I may, Kenny.
Are you saying that the Lucis trust prints materials for the United Nations?

The goal of members of the Order of the Eastern Star is to emulate the virtues of five notable women of the bible, four from the O.T. and one from the N.T.

Of course, Thaddeus, you've probably already read this in one or two of the links I gave you, so stop me if I'm boring you.

The idea is to talk about the faith we all share and how we can become better people, rather than to talk about our differences, which can lead to quarreling and division. For example, I'm United Methodist, but that's of no importance at an OES meeting. However, following, say, Ada's example (fidelity) is.
My chapter has a two hour long pot-luck after every meeting, so we have plenty of time to talk informally and you know what they say about talking religion and politics at such gatherings.LOL

They used to. The LT address *was* at UN Plaza.
I don't know if LT still publishes for UN.

The potlucks are a lot like a family reunion. I heard some surprising things discussed, but most of us would avoid the subject of our various denominations, anyhow. I don't know of any rule saying that we cqan't discuss polotics, but we rarely do.

I have a large family which is part Southern Baptist and part United Methodist and when we get together, we tell jokes on each others' denominations, but we don't discuss anything serious about our differences, because we want to have a good time. It's much the same thing.

The U.M.C itself has a similar policy about potentially divisive subjects.
