LOL That's a funny picture.

I imagine most of us would stop and listen to you tell us all about how the "wonders of masonry" is just about a bunch of guys from different walks of life who come together and sing songs and drink tea.
I would wonder what's so secret about drinking tea and worshipping God?
Why the accidentally Satanic symbols and the accidentally mis-interpretable name of your deity, and the accidentally mis-interpretable purpose and meaning of your songs, publications, oaths...

There are far too many accidental slips into weirdness for Masonry to be a God-loving brotherhood. Sure, blame history and the blurring of meanings, but isn't it a coincidence that all the accidentals slips headed in the direction of the dark lord?

Bill, every post you have ever made is in defence of Freemasonry.

I suspect you are a plant.
It may be because the thread is headed 'What is a Freemason'. If the thread was about fishing I would talk about that. Plus with this many argueing against, dont you think it creates a balance.

Finally , I am a Freemason , of course I will defend it. Its what I do. There are plenty of questions so we can deduce someone is interested.

Well emmajane that a lot of accidents you have put in there. People ask questions , I answer them to the best of my ability. would you prefer I made up a nice convenient answer that fits neatly. The truth is often grey and blurred.

to be precise it is not Masons that question the items you listed it is you the sceptic. I am just tring to shed some light in your direction. You moan that Masons are secretive and when one shows up with some answers you moan because they do not fit what you want to hear.

Christainity has been here for 2,003 years, Masonry a mere 250. Give us another 1,750 years we will have all the answers the Church has.

I am the most truthful person you will ever meet. You may take it or leave it. I get no money from Masonry, no one has ever made me do anything I did not want to do. I have made hundreds of friends . I have had a great time. I love God and wish no man any harm. I have not witnessed any evil in Masonry, only good.

There is no way I can proove this , as there is no way you can proove your comments . They just are.

I see emmajane picked up on this also.

I must admit I am not a tea drinker, I have to tell you English Masonry is more 'Knife and fork' than our American Brothers, we have a meal after the meeting with a glass or two of wine, Maybe three or four.

Now that would be a real kicker. To find out all that Masons do is to have a great time and enjoy each others company.

All the evangelists against masonry would not be able to sell many books, with the revelation, "Evil Masons -Eat a meal".

Emmajane! What a thing to say! Every post which Sweetkitty and I have made on this thread is in defense of Masonry. Are we plants?

Has it ever occured to you that Bill might like to post somewhere else, but that with two threads going on the subject of Masonry at once, that he doesn't have time to both answer everyone's questions and post on other threads?

Could a member drop the use of "guide" and use Jesus Christ in its place all the time?

Better yet, could I become a mason if I openly stated that I couldn't use any other term for supreme being except Jesus Christ?
Sorry I am sure I covered this before .

No prayers in Lodge are ended with anything other than Amen or so mote it be Which is exactly the same.

The obligations are taken using the terms Great Architect and Grand Geometrician. Most High.

These are references to the god of the bible and you may have a problem with saying these words I do not know. Please remember tht the story of masonry is founded on the Old Testament, obviously Jesus is not mentioned. But we are talking about a story being told in a theatrical manner. Not a religious ceremony.

However there is no objection to anyone ending their prayers "in the name of Jesus" or however you wish, it is your faith not anyone elses. There is not a lot of praying going on in a Lodge.

The only time I have heard of a problem is when some over zealous Christian tries to convert the whole Lodge to his faith, then that is always a problem in or out of a Lodge.

The Lodge is a place where all religions , all colors and all credes can meet and enjoy each others company.

I thank you for sharing some information. My spirit is starting to suffer from just going over this type of information. I don't feel like I should do it anymore. I'll pray for you Bill and Plan 9. Here is how I see what you've shared with me.

Gaotu is a name Masons give to encompass all the gods. A member can think of Gaotu however he wants just as long the cult of Masons worship that name through prayer and oaths. It can refer to God, Baal, Osiris even Lucifer all at the same time and no one seems to care. In fact, any Pagan god can be added to the list as a god with equality. Gaotu, the politically correct, Equal Opportunity, Pagan God of the new age.

This practice of blasphemy and Paganism blends in society through fellowship and charity then wages war against the teachings of the Holy Bible. It blinds a member from seeing that the way to the Kingdom of Heaven isn't from doing good deeds but through acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour..

1 Corinthians 10
21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

The wages of sin is death.

I really like that poem "The Judgment Seat" and I would hate to see our Mason friends end up in that position. I don't know why you can't see why God is angered by this behavior but you can change everything.

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Now, Thaddeus has read some links and found us guilty until we prove ourselves innocent, an impossibility.

Atta boy, Thaddeus! Keep showing that Christian charity. ;)

What I find particularly amusing , Bill, is the way everyone quotes scriptures I memoried thirty years ago, because they're certain I must not know them.

I don't understand how a Christian can let someone change the name of who they worship. These aren't links I've read but rather what you and Bill have told me.

I don't judge you so I can't find you guilty. I just know how I feel about it from what I've read.

You didn't get any of that from Bill or me. You posted that before either of us ever replied to you.
You have judged us; don't kid yourself that you haven't. Your post was un-Christian, unkind and broke CF's flaming rule.

No no I had heard stuff before, but what I wrote here, is just what I interpreted from you and Bill. ex.

TO ME, any place you get with peope in secret and pray to an unknown name is a cult

The name of the God is what BIll said, he said you pray to it

You said all faiths share the spiritual side of it etc

And like I said. I don't judge you personaly, I have just have issues with the craft. I hope you are saved plan, cause I feel for you. I think you're a really nice person.

I don't think you choose to worship Satan by a choice. You're not evil like that. It's simply a conflict between masonry and Christianity that's all.

Rule No. 1 - No "Flaming"

1) You will not post any messages that harass, insult, belittle, threaten or flame another member or guest. You may discuss another member's beliefs but there will be no personal attacks on the member himself or herself. This includes implied accusations that another member is not a Christian.

I agree you have issues, since not only do I not worship Satan, I'm not even a Mason. You've paid no real attention to anything I've posted here.

The one that said I don't worship Satan on purpose? Frankly, I think a person who could worship Satan by accident couldn't be very bright.

Look, Thad, Let's just call it a night, okay? :)
