What has President Trump's time in office done to you, personally?

I assume you mean NK, and I guess you're suggesting that the way to avoid war is to engage in a urinary contest via Twitter.

Not to get in the middle of something that isn't my business, but my observation of the OP was an opportunity to engage in a thoughtful discussion. I don't think putting a particularly crude and ugly and wrong spin onto that and/or putting words in the author's mouth that he (she?) didn't say is useful to that.

President Trump's time in office has made me more optimistic about America even while I worry about how the media is constantly attacking him and trying to bring him down.

A contest involves more than one person, no? So no blame goes to the dictator (be it Iran, Pakistan, or NK), it's all on President Trump?

It's ok. I expected it. I could have allowed all posts without comment, but felt that didn't invite discourse. It's ok to disagree, even if I'm sure they're wrong.

Did I say that? No. It appears to me that he's made it worse. NK had the same "leader" before Trump became POTUS. So the difference, it's not insane to suppose, may be attributable to him.

Isn't North Korea and South Korea unifying in a cooperative effort for the Olympics?

How is this "worse"?

It's not clear to me at all what the claimed unification means or will mean. It's just marching together and having one unified hockey team, right? I don't know that this isn't just buying time.

Is it a "bad" thing?

How did Trump make your kids afraid of climate change? Are you sure that's not something you did to them?

And why are they afraid of nuclear war? Did you let them know that Obama and Clinton allowed NK to acquire nukes?

It sounds like most of this stuff you mention is self inflicted. Sounds like you've made some bad choices and are blaming it on Trump.

Curious how you omitted the 8 years in between Clinton and Obama...lol

1. He has given me confidence and appreciation that not everybody aspiring to high office is a member of the feckless permanent political class who throws us a few bones to keep us quiet while they concentrate on benefiting and enriching themselves personally. He actually wants to accomplish things that are good for all Americans. As an American and as a patriot that makes me happy and gives me hope that America's best days are still to look forward to.

I found this one curious. Have you compared the tax benefit you stand to get relative to the tax benefit he stands to get?

Now as for my answer...

Truthfully it's had little impact upon me. I stand to get a decent bump in pay due to the tax cut. That's about it.

I do, however, worry about what's coming down the pike when it comes to Medicare. I'm pushing 50 - so I'm thinking about how things will go in the next 15-20 years. Simply put - medical issues for elderly people are not something that ought be left in the private sector. Right now to cover my family of four, with no medical issues whatsoever, I'm paying close to $18,000 per year. Three out of the past six years - due to random little things (and they were relatively minor things) - I've paid in excess of $23,000 per year on combined medical things (premiums + deductibles + copays + insurance company chicanery).

I know other people who are in their late 50's - who already are paying close to $2,000 per month to cover themselves.

That's simply how private medical coverage works for people who are in the elderly risk pool.

So, I have real trepidation when it comes to what APPEARS to be the plans that these guys have for Medicare coming up.

Would I gladly give my tax rebate back to ensure that Medicare will be there for me when I'm 65 - heck yes. lol

So more appeasement is what you think should have happened? Or get the guy to the table and tell him what's what? I think what Mr. Trump is doing is working just fine.

I wasn't a huge Bush fan, but he was dealing with other things, wouldn't you say? Like 9/11?

When you see what the tax benefits for corporations does to the paychecks of employees, you'll get it. Lowest unemployment for blacks and women in 20 years, lowest total unemployment since the 70's. Meh, it's nothing.

Do you work? Does your employer offer health insurance? I had four surgeries this year and paid my 5K deductible plus premiums...
I know other people who are in their late 50's - who already are paying close to $2,000 per month to cover themselves.
Unemployed? I've been worried about SSI and Medicare since 20 years ago...
That's simply how private medical coverage works for people who are in the elderly risk pool.
That's Obamacare for you. Pay out the nose for nothing.

Yep, I work. Nope, my employer doesn't offer health insurance. I'm in the weird predicament where I earn a decent amount more than others in my field - but there's no health insurance along with it. So I bear the cost of it. It then becomes a gamble. Do I take a pay cut to then have the health insurance benefit - or do I just pay my own premiums and hope I don't also get sacked with the copays/deductibles/etc.

Unemployed?
Nope. Own their own businesses. So no employer to cover the difference and they pay the full premium.

Maybe in 2001 and 2002 - but then he was consumed with selling Iraq to the American people...then reaping the consequences of that bad choice.

You are far more optimistic about that than I am. The truth of the matter is even before this tax break US taxes were at the lowest point they’ve been in probably the past 50 years. We certainly have not seen median wage increasing as a consequence of that.

But, let’s resume this conversation in about a year and See what median wages are them. I predict there will be negligible increases.

I can't defend some of the dumb things he says but in general I feel as if he was elected because democrats embrace too much politically correct insanity in the way they vilify so much of the things America was founded on. I think there is hope for America since people have clearly rejected that. The best example I can give is that I didn't have to quietly whisper Merry Christmas at work.
