Floatingaxe said:It is so amazing and sad that the Word of God just makes absolutely no impact on you (include the others in this.)
This just isn’t true. The issue isn’t impact but how the verses you’ve pulled out just don’t apply to our conversation. If they do, please show how. Show how thinking sexual thoughts and/or masturbation inherently falls under the umbrella of “the flesh.” Until you can do so, you just don’t have a case.
You have been told ad infinitum what God thinks, yet you refuse to accept the truth.
By who? You? I’m sorry, but you are not God, nor do you speak for God. There are problems with what you’re preaching (namely, holding to an ideal that would doom all of humanity) and absolutely no biblical support for your condemnations, whether explicitly or by principle.
The voice of the flesh and of Satan is much louder than the voice of the Holy Spirit. Unless you have a trained ear to hear God, or a desire to even hear Him, you will be deaf to Him.
Oh, yes, the “you don’t agree with me, so you’re listening to Satan instead of the soft whisper of God’s voice” routine. It’s cheap, cheesy, and doesn’t work.
At least, my conscience is clear--you cannot stand before the Holy God and say you never knew about the sinful, perverse nature of your behaviour. You will not have a leg to stand on before the righteous Judge.
First, just because I defend something does not mean I do it myself. That’s a blind assumption on your part. Second, sure I do. I have reason. Why would God condemn people for doing what He never told them to refrain from? Nowhere does scripture condemn thinking sexual thoughts or even mention masturbation, whether explicitly or by principle. You’re talking about a judge condemning someone for breaking a law that was never given.
Why don't you provide some passages that prove your stance? You cannot.
We don’t need to, as any action is morally innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around. If you want to condemn something, you must provide evidence that it’s either (a) decreed by God to be inherently against His will or (b) inherently has negative consequences that outweigh any possible good consequences that may result. To date, you have done neither.
As man and woman were made to provide sexual satisfaction form one another---made for it--then any other act outside of marriage is FORNICATION! ADULTERY!
I’m sorry, but this is not true. Masturbation is typically a solitary act – that’s why it’s masturbation. There is no one else involved. If no one else is involved, it is not fornication or adultery (which, by definition, involves another party).
Further still, no one here is suggesting anything contrary to your claim that men and women were meant for each other sexually. This does not, however, exclude alternative uses for that sexuality for as long as it doesn’t hinder its purpose. Perhaps an example might help. Books are meant to be read; that’s their purpose. However, does a man do wrong if he uses a book as a paperweight for a few minutes? Of course not. He has done no crime against the purpose of the book – he has merely added functionality to it that does not hinder its intended purpose.
The same principle holds true for human sexuality. In fact, it could be said that masturbation enhances the purpose of our sexuality by increasing our sex drives and getting people more excited about sexual intimacy within marriage. It also allows people to explore and find out what they like and dislike, helping to further spice up the marriage bed.
