I remember once thinking I really knew how God would answer prayers. Then I was reading 1 Jn.5:14 And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 5:15 And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.

Well, I've had some remakable prayers answered over the years, but I also have become awear that often I didn't know God as I should have.
I don't know if jedi's prayer will be answered or not, but I know exactly how your feeling and thinking Jedi.

I quite agree. Yet it seems to me that the church has swung the pendulum to the exact opposite extreme so that sexuality is suffocated. To be honest, I pray on my knees that my future wife (whoever she may be) masturbates. I don’t want her to be afraid of sexuality like so many people in the church seem to be, with their “ew, sex, icky-poo” attitudes. They are either ignorant of the power and God-ordained goodness of our sexuality or they are completely fake in their approach to sexuality.

I know what you mean. My GF was molested as a child, and as a result of that + all the christian shame people wrap sex up in, the whole idea of sex was scary. Thankfully though, she realized that there's absolutely nothing wrong with masturbation and that was her first step to realizing that sex and intimacy is actually a good thing. She knew her own body before I got to know it. We've prayed a lot and we've been patient and careful and not least respectful, both to our fears and our desires, and then prayed some more, and we finally made a conscious decision to go all the way. Like adults, like believers, like lovers, like two who will share their entire lives with each other. And it turned out to be a wonderfully healing experience for her - the final and ultimate step out into freedom from the emotional and religious bondage pedophiles and christians had caught her in.

I'm so glad I don't have to limit God and His will and His way of doing things and His answers to prayers, to some sort of religious dogma and christian set of rules which really don't have anything to do with neither God nor nature.

And I know so many people will never even get close to understanding what I'm talking about... because they have God in one box and sexuality in another, and refuse to see anything in any other nuance than black or white. I think it's because of fear.

I would never take the Lord's name in vain. You don't know what you are talking about. Your views on sexuality come from a perverted view of God's plan for us. He wants us to be happy in Him, and He is the one who provides for all our needs--and the sexual needs are provided for by His gift of a wife--or husband. Nothing else.

Only God can touch the hurting wounds of a woman who has suffered molestation in her past. Christian counselling is the best way to bring that about.

So since the bible doesn't ever even mention masturbation, you must have asked God, honestly and without presumtion, whether or not masturbation is sinful, for all people, at all times (except for children, for some reason you couldn't explain), and His answer was "yes, that's how it is for everybody forever".
