What do we do to prevent another Las Vegas?

It's funny how things like this seem so far away until it hits you personally.

A friend of mine was flying in to town for a wedding (his wife's friend was getting married). I just found out (a few hours ago) that, he is not flying in, his sister was killed in Vegas.

Another friend of mine was signing a $50k business deal from an investor he secured, the investor's brother got shot and is in critical condition so that deal is postponed until further notice.

that's all. No argument to be made. Just a blip on the data radar...

these things actually do impact and effect us... I bet that if you dug deep enough, many of us are 2 or 3 degrees of separation from this Vegas incident...

Perhaps when a critical mass of people in your country have experienced the aftermath of one of these massacres, then maybe, just maybe, something significant will change...

Registry doesn't do a thing but give government "too much" oversight.

Yet a registry of sorts is needed to know who has sought mental healthcare so that they can be kept away from guns.

They know exactly where each and every weapon is (thinking about Hitler keeping track of each Jew...) Besides, this latest pervert bought 33 weapons this last year, I think, and had a background check for each one... so why didn't the government at least pay him a visit?

This is usually when people feel a change. For instance, when we see GOP candidates who are strictly against homosexuals. Usually within a couple months of one of their kids coming out of the closet they suddenly find a streak of tolerance toward gay people. Or an incredibly wealthy person who never saw the value of welfare...when they hit hard times they are the first in line to get welfare. It's a miracle.

The sad thing about gun violence is it has to result in so much pain for some people to realize that something big needs to be changed in our country.

it is easier to kill someone with a gun - just ask the numerous toddlers who have done it, Its almost impossible to cause mass murder without a gun - it can be done but the circumstances would be extraordinary, as opposed to the very frequent that occurs in your country.

Just ask your friendly car-hikacker - ask him if he can hijkack a car with a knife...he'd probably say yes but gee itd be a lot harder.

Ban Guns, they'll use explosives.
Ban the sell of explosives, they'll make it themselves.
Ban equipment for making explosives ?? (Can't really be done) They'll make biological weapons (Ever mix Ammonia & bleach, are we going to ban cleaning agents ? )

Want to reduce it, increase mental health screenings (might have to have forced yearly screening though)
Force everyone to walk (Ban all cars / trucks as they've been used in multiple attacks)
Skin tight clothing only, no pockets to hide stuff. Single ID Band for identification, and give up your freedoms of travel, privacy, self control, ect.
