We are talking about cites. Just because a STATE has lose gun laws in SOME states cities are permitted to have stricter gun laws.

What is the point? You said that one of the reasons it may be an issue is because some states with lose gun laws are beside those with tight gun laws and I was saying that the state may or may not be the issue just because a STATE has fairly lose gun laws does not mean a particular city will.

Only if they can obtain and deploy those options. Getting a gun is far simpler and more accessible.

If it was made too difficult, then the person would just be more motivated to use something else, such as explosives, a car or truck, an airplane via boxcutter, etc. That's partly why those tactics have been used in places where guns aren't readily available, and plenty of people have been killed. Being killed by something other than a gun doesn't make it any less tragic.
