Who told you this? There's absolutely no correlation between religion and less mass shootings in a country.
Well, that is a somewhat valid argument. We have a large mental health problem.
I'm actually in favor of gun rights. I would just like honest discussion from both sides, and for people on my side of the argument to stop saying "we can't talk about this right now", when now is exactly the time to talk about it. Even if all we agree to do is simply mourn our dead and put up with the carnage, it is at least worth talking about an issue taking so many lives in such a brutal fashion.
Who says we need a solution???
Progressivism: The silliest way known to man to deal with life. First you create solutions to problems that don’t exist, thereby creating a problem where none existed before which then means you have to find a solution to that problem you just created…
Oh my....
How often do you need to have a gun massacre before it becomes a "problem"...?
Quite a few people since, you know, several dozen people were just mowed down at a concert, and it is becoming a more common problem. I think this at least warrants an honest discussion.Who says we need a solution???

So. The question was asked how to stop mass shootings. I answered the question. We know the way is take people's gun rights away. Nothing else will work.
Why would you assume your mental health problems are greater than any other Western nation? And if they are, isn't that a strong argument for limiting access to automatic weapons?
A gun makes a person, even a child, dangerous. Far less dangerous than they are without. I wouldn't be very afraid of someone attempting to rob me, even with a knife
Gun toting toddlers kill about 20 Americans a year, and shoot someone about 1/week. Seems pretty dangerous to me.
When is safety ever "guaranteed"?If you can't guarantee my safety, then you have no moral authority to determine what measures are proper for my personal safety. In fact, there is no acceptable moral argument I need accept that I should be the one who pulls the short straw in a Shirley Jackson lottery.
An argument that statistics dictated morality would be quickly lost.
The US courts have already ruled that the government itself has no responsibility for my personal safety.
If you can create a situation in which that young punk doesn't get a gun that yet allows me to take whatever measures I deem necessary to protect me from that young punk's equally effective fists and knives, I'd be open to hear it.
Myth #5: Keeping a gun at home makes you safer.
Fact-check: Owning a gun has been linked to higher risks of homicide, suicide, and accidental death by gun.
• For every time a gun is used in self-defense in the home, there are 7 assaults or murders, 11 suicide attempts, and 4 accidents involving guns in or around a home.
• 43 percent of homes with guns and kids have at least one unlocked firearm.
• In one experiment, one third of 8-to-12-year-old boys who found a handgun pulled the trigger.
Myth #6: Carrying a gun for self-defense makes you safer.
Fact-check: In 2014, according to FBI data, nearly eight times more people were shot and killed in arguments than by civilians trying to stop a crime.
• In one survey, nearly 1 percent of Americans reported using guns to defend themselves or their property. However, a closer look at these claims found that more than half involved using guns in an aggressive manner, such as escalating an argument.
• A study in Philadelphia found that the odds of an assault victim being shot were 4.5 times greater if he carried a gun. His odds of being killed were 4.2 times greater.
If you can't guarantee my safety, then you have no moral authority to determine what measures are proper for my personal safety.
Access to automatic weapons is highly limited.
And yet, that sounded like hundreds of rounds of automatic gunfire in Las Vegas..?
Now, you will probably tell me that he had to break the law to modify his weapons
