Why did this moderate Libertarian vote Trump?

"Voting for Trump will be the biggest middle finger to the political establishment in the history of America, and it is going to feel gooooooooooood!" -Michael Moore

Yep, it was.

It's going to be even better voting for Trump again in 2020!

That will be even more true if the democrat candidate is one of the more extreme socialists.

That's the hatred I've been referring to. The dems are really showing it now by going after 81 more people who aren't even Trump. The people who identify with the dems are going to vote in lockstep with what they see from their representatives.

Beats me! I voted for him because he was the Republican nominee.

Saying he is a horrible president and horrible person is just my opinion based on observable evidence - not hatred.

We all have opinions and elbows, Aldebaran.

An opinion of Trump as president is not the equivalency of using the Nword.

You have engaged in a fallacy of false equivalency.

What was your opinion of Obama? What would I find if I retrieve your comments on him.

That's probably true.

However, it is also true that the Democratic Party leaders, both inside and outside of Congress, have put her on some sort of pedestal in a way that is virtually unheard of for a newly-elected Congressperson still in her 20s.

They have welcomed her extremist political proposals and demands, never criticizing her "loose cannon" style, and also talking as though everything she is...is what the party needs for the future.
Pelosi on the New Green Deal:

"It will be one of several or maybe many suggestions that we receive. The green dream, or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they're for it, right?"

Doesn't seem very welcoming to me.

Agree.

or said another way, She's a young, charismatic idealist who's ideas need to be debated, scrutinized and evaluated.

and as an aside "loose cannon" would be a compliment to some of our elected leaders.
Isn't that why a lot of people voted for Trump?

That alpone doesn't answer the question of whether or not she has been promoted patronized, pushed forward, or put on a pedestal by party leaders in a way that is unusual considering her shortcomings.
She hasn't been.

Oh, please, the only reason miss ex-bartender got voted in was cause her opponent didn't campaign and only the hardcore voted. She won the primary by like 9,000 votes. Not some overwhelmingly number. LOL
She beat a 10-term incumbent by 15% points. That is huge.

It depends on what your definition of "obsessed" is. If someone is doing and saying things that create attention, then they will get attention. Take a look at what you said earlier:

Now, substitute OAC for Trump, and substitute the liberal media for the conservative media. See the pattern?
Are you seriously comparing the "leader" of the free world to a first-term congresswoman, 1 representative out of 435?

That is exactly why she is getting so much attention. Conservatives keep giving it to her.

I saw that part, but that's where they start inserting their own opinions into it. Even referring to what we use now as "dirty energy" shows their ignorance and bias on the subject. The energy we're using has been cleaned up immensely, and they fail to recognize that.
That certainly doesn't make it clean energy though, does it?

The original NGD proposed getting rid of natural gas and even nuclear energy, which produces no emissions at all aside from water vapor.
Nuclear energy may not produce much in the way of emissions (it isn't zero BTW) but it does have the little problem with disposing of those spent fuel rods.

Why is the news media making such a big deal over her? I don't get it.
The common Dem / Media fears has found an outlet to their insane instability over impeaching or at least suppressing Trump, which I classify as political detoxification from what the Obama yrs wound up grooming them for, dreams which have turned into nightmares.

Which explains why they could not understand why the President patriotically embraced the flag at CPAC.

Gimme a break! She beat him 15,897 to 11,761, a 4,000 vote win. Only the die-hards voted in a district with one million people. 127,000 voted in the general election, which was 100,000 more votes.

The news media loves and so do a lot of Democrats. But why? She recently cost NY $24.5 billion in tax revenue and 143,000 jobs over 10 years as her and others got Amazon to scuttle plans for HQ2 in Long Island City.

Her Green Deal is a joke that would cost $53-93 trillion over 10 years.

She's basically a 15 watt bulb in a socket that requires 100 watts.

Why is the news media making such a big deal over her? I don't get it.
Her fans don't see her, they see the fake version of her the media creates by covering up as many of the terrible things she's said and done as possible. Her fans aren't interested in reality or the disastrous consequences of leftist policies, they're interested in the Goodfeels they get when they continue to believe in the "Leftism good" lie.

Remember when she threatened a man's life on twitter?

Which we don't know how to do yet.

And let's not delve into the fact that the US Navy doesn't know what to do with retired nuclear propulsion cores.

I'll say it again since you don't seem to get it:

She beat a 10-term incumbent by 15% points. That is huge.

Also, her district only has about 690,000 people, not 1M. 141,000 (not 127,000) people voted in the general election and she 110,000 of those votes. 91,000 more than the Republican challenger. Do you also think Trump had the largest attendance of any presidential inauguration in history?

What do Democrats see in Ocasio-Cortez?

14th Congressional District (ethnicity)
********************************

Ocasio-Cortez represents the 14th NY Congressional District that is 49.80% Hispanic - unlike the Republicans, the Democratic Party has attracted candidates whose "ethnicity" actually reflects those they are elected to represent!

So I think the news media, especially conservative media, pays more attention to her then a lot of Democrats. But even with that, she is getting some attention and I think it's a for a combination of factors. She's a young Latina in an organization that leans heavily towards old white men, she does have some radical ideas, but she's willing to put them out there. Her ideas are no more radical then some of the stuff Paul Ryan put out, but they are still out of the mainstream of Congressional thought even if younger Americans in general identify with some of them. And the third thing, which I think is truly what makes her stand out even among her fellow progressive millennial colleagues, is that she really has a mean social media game. She's really good on social media, and that is what her grassroots pays attention to. Honestly I doubt she would ever be interested in President, but I wouldn't be surprised if she tries to primary Schumer or Gilldebrand the next time they are up for reelection, assuming she's old enough.
