• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I am allergic to red top grass, cultivated oats, and airborne mold.

I can't sit indian-style on grass unless I'm insulated aginst direct contact or else I get rashy itchy.

I can't stand being out in the windy air when farmers are burning their rice or oat crops, I am constantly clearing my throat, or sneezing, or tissuing a bloody nose when in that predicament.

I really really get respiratory duress when in a building that blows moldy air duct air into the room!! I gave up trying to teach in classrooms because of it.

I thought my daughter was allergic to corn at the age of one. Every time she had corn-corn starch, corn meal, corn grits, pop corn...corn in any and every form she would have incredible intestinal distress, break out in hives, and get a little wheezy and cough. I had her allergy tested and it came out negative. Still convinced that she had an allergy to corn, I removed corn from her diet. She immediately improved. I kept her corn-free for about a year, and then by mistake I fed her a corn product. Much to my surprise she did not have any reaction. After yet another visit to the doctor and a ton of research on my part I discovered her problem- she had a delayed reaction allergy to corn and with a few months of corn-free diet she is now able to have it in moderation! Turns out I have the same delayed reaction allergies to wheat, corn, egg whites, and dairy. I am just starting my 6 months of restricted diet, praying that I will have the same healing that my daughter did :)

Are allergies God trying to stop you from breathing because you are so full of sin that by blocking your airway you cannot expel that sin into the souls of others? So, in a way it's like God wants you to 'take one for the team' and stop breathing so you should not spread sin....STOP TAKING ALLERGY MEDICINES BECAUSE THEY DEFY GOD!

When asked why it rains by my son, I replied "Because God is crying." When asked why he's crying, I replied "Probaly because of something you did."
