People say this ties into the roots of the comic more, which I think was inspired by detective noir. They also say it looks like the comics. I haven't read too many Batman comics but it is definitely different and refreshing in those ways. He doesn't use technology as much and he's more isolated than usual. Bruce Wayne is almost non-existent. His life is being Batman.
I just got back. It was very long. & a bit too dark tone-wise. & I'm not sure I liked the political message. & I don't like how 'Jesus' is said so much as a curse word.

But I liked it. The detective stuff is very well handled. Despite it being too dark, I still liked the overall feel of the movie. Batman (not Bruce Wayne) indeed is in it the majority of the movie. All the villians were well-done. I liked the corruption themes. It's Batman!

I don't think it's as good as everyone's saying. 1989 Batman still the best one, & I'd probably still put the Christian Bale movies ahead of it (not sure which one, there's elements of all 3 I liked)

I pretty much agree with what you said. It was well made but there is some politics and I don't enjoy the dark tone as much as I used too. Him being a detective was cool though and the characters were done in an interesting way. I also liked that both Batman and The Riddler are these smart dudes yet they both failed to pick up on certain things along the way. It made them feel more real instead of like super geniuses. There was some good stuff that they can build on for a superior sequel.

So far, some of the earlier Batman films were better.

One Piece: Film Z

I thought it was just okay. The animation is incredible. I loved the settings (sea train, volcanoes are amazing, the Marine base, etc.) The costumes in the final fight are perfect. Chopper was adorable. I always liked Aojiki & Kizaru so seeing them in starring roles was good. It sounds like I really liked it, but I found the story lacking (& I find story the most important part) & I didn’t really care for Z until the very end – his sacrifice was perfect.

I preferred Strong World

4/5

I also watched the Z’s Ambition filler arc. I’ve liked a lot of 1P filler arcs but found this one just ok. I did like the last episode however (the final fight is pretty good) & the llama cannon Alpaccacino is hilarious :)

I am watching a documentary series about the Ark of the Covenant now.
Fascinating. I wonder what the early Jews thought happened to it. It's so important in the Old Testament surely they had theories

I thought I had posted I got a DVD w/ episodes from Ahh Real Monsters, Wild Thornberrys, Danny Phantom, Angry Beavers, & CatDog, but can’t find it.

The only one I really cared about is Wild Thornberrys, never really liked the others growing up but tried them again. Ahh Real Monsters is a LOT better then I remember, I really enjoyed these few episodes. CatDog is still boring. Angry Beavers is better (I love how it’s the voice of Zim) Haven’t watched Danny Phantom yet & never did growing up either so will be my introduction to him.

Raya & The Last Dragon
--I really liked the character Raya & her rival. Didn't like Rose Tico in Star Wars, but Kelly Marie Tran nails it out of the park as Raya. Her rival is great too. I enjoyed their relationship. Apparently the creators say they're LGBTQ, but there's not really anything in the movie that shows that.
---I liked the fantasy world & adventure. The animation & music is really good as well
---Why the dragons all disappeared isn't explained & comes across as a major plothole. I think the audience is supposed to understand the humans were too selfish to come together & so the dragons had to, but it really should've been spelled out.
---I thought the con baby was hilarious :). The rest of her team doesn't do anything for me but this is Raya's story.

If you like fantasy or Disney movies I recommend this. I give it a 4/5.
