  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm reading MANY books.

1) The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom
2) Inferno by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle
3) Revenge of the Living Dummy by R.L. Stine
4) Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan

I cannot usually sit through one book at a time. I usually get too bored with it and have to stop and pick up on it later. I'm halfway through all 4 of them. :)

In the last couple of days: Basic Christianity by John Stott, and The Practice of the Presence of God and the spiritual maxims by Brother Lawrence.

Tomorrow I've got the day off work (Bank Holiday) and I'm going to spend the whole day reading! :)
I've been leisurely enjoying the 'Merrily Watkins books ("about a down-to-earth female priest of the Church of England employed as an exorcist") by Phil Rickman. Finally got the next one in the series; 'The Lamp Of The Wicked' off Amazon for a penny. Bargain :D
