I have a kindle which I love and I'm reading many books.

One book that is very profound is "On Killing"

It talks about the affects of killing, and it basically states that through time people don't want to kill other people.

In WW1 one general stated the only way he could get his men from firing over the heads of the enemy would be to beat his men on the back telling them to aim low.

The trend continued in Vietnam where more than 50 thousand bullets were fired for every kill.

After the battle of Gettysburg 27,574 guns were recovered. 90% of the guns were found loaded. 12,000 of the guns were loaded multiple times. :o

Most of the killing was done by artillery, and of course infection.

Why were they all loaded, probably because the soldier didn't want to fire it and kill someone.

What do you think?
