Started Tom Wolfe's newest novel Back to Blood. So far, it's quite good, although be prepared for f-bombs should you decide to read it. But these don't detract too much from his theme, which seems to be that once a society turns secular in the mainstream, people need something to replace religious belief with, and it's their ethnic identity.

Just started The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling. I'm only through the first chapter. It definitely hasn't grabbed my attention like the Harry Potter series did right from the start but I have a feeling it will get better.
