CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm thankful I got to play golf this weekend.
I'm thankful I got to do a lot of swimming in a friends pool Sat. and Sun.
I'm thankful the rain didn't get the inside of my tent wet.
I'm thankful I got to witness just a little bit this weekend.
I'll make this one a little vague!
I'm thankful I got to dive **** off a diving board this weekend for the 1st time.

I am thankful to have our new puppy
I am thankful I made it thru the weekend with the a/c not cooling our house below 88 degrees!
I am thankful to have gotten a surprise raise at my second job (I thought I was due in October but apparently they do everyone in August) even though it was very minimal
I am thankful I have extra hours this week at my second job even though I will be one tired puppy
I am thankful that school is starting this week!

I am probably looking at a new unit. Mine is 12 years old but it has a leak and uses the old type of refrigerant that just skyrocketed in price so....why throw good money after bad? Especially since I just paid 300 bucks in January!!! because it was low and wasn't heating. A new unit would save me on the monthly bill as well so...even though I cannot afford it, I also cannot afford not to. I was looking to see if maybe I should take money out of my IRA but it looks like if I do it that way I have to give half of it to Uncle Sam and I don't want to do that, so I will see if they will finance me, or put it on one of my credit cards that still has enough credit left on it. God knows my needs so, it is what it is....

A lot of heating/air-conditioning companies today have "in-house" financing that you may want to look into? That could save you a few bucks rather than using a credit card or get financing from a finance outfit???

I am thankful for God's grace and am blown away with the kindness of others toward me. 
I am thankful that I only have 3 more shifts before I get to spend a much needed night of girl time with my SIL
I am thankful for the livelyness of this forum lately
I am thankful that I am over the shock of putting in a new a/c unit
I am thankful that since I am a friend of one of their employees they are installing the unit today and waiting for payment

I am thankful that the first day of school morning went off without a hitch, well almost....our new dog jumped the fence but thankfully did not run away and was out front when I went out there. My son was a little grumpy when I told him she jumped the fence. She is in her kennel for the day now....whew!
Thankful that my new A/C got installed even though they apparently broke some drywall in the attic, so now they have to come out to fix that
Thankful that they installed the A/C without payment and are waiting for me to get the check in the mail because I am a friend of an employee.
Thankful that my week is winding down and I only have one more day before I get a day off

That's great Michelle .. just curious as to how much one of those AC units cost? I paid like 150 for my window unit last year. But I only have to deal with 85-90 degrees in the afternoon. I think I have only run it 3 nights so far.

well it ain't no window unit....I wish! It is an outside ground 14 seer variable speed with electronic thermostat (I had the old dial kind) and it cost.................................are you ready?.................with tax, installation, their service agreement, 10 year warranty on compressor and parts, 1 year on labor, and if the compressor gives before 5 years I get a new unit.....the brand is Carrier.....................................6138.00!
Felt like I was buying a car!

Well I thought it would be around 3 thousand, so that was a real shock to my system. I had a 13 seer and now I guess I have a 14.5. It's a 3 1/2 ton (whatever all that means
) and I shouldn't have any dang A/C problems for at least 10 years lol. My boss's unit is 19 years. My old one was 14 I think so....it is what it is, but it's sure nice and cool now and I'm hoping my 400 electric bill will be going down too! Supposedly every seer should save you 5% on your bill. We shall see

Today I am thankful that it's the last day of work at my second job. Well I do have to work on Sat, but at least I get Friday off.
I am thankful that I only have ONE shift at my second job next week. It will be a nice break.
I am thankful that my son's dog was found. She jumped the fence while my son was outside with her! He was crying last night. TBH I really didn't care if we found her since she is a jumper but I know my son wanted her back so.....
I am thankful that I was only a few minutes late after waking up when I usually leave for work. Either I didn't hear my alarm and shut it off, or it didn't go off. My son also made it to school on time even though I left him. His older brother took him so he wasn't late either.
I am thankful to have this thread to remind me to be thankful even when things don't go exactly as planned in life. I still need to be grateful and I AM, but it's nice to have a reminder thread here to post about it.

Thank you Lord for the verizon wireless bill finally being resolved after a month.

Thankful for this forum and the ability to connect online with other people that we might not get to in real life.
Thankful for the Word of God active in my personal life. It's such a joy to read the Word and have passages "speak" to you. Living Word! Quenches my thirst!

Thankful that tonight is my last night of working for the week!
Thankful that I was able to un-adopt our recent puppy.
Thankful that my new A/C is working wonderfully and the thermostat is easy and preset for energy savings.
Thankful for bible study last night
Thankful that I got the check from my IRA even though I mistakenly typed my address incorrectly! off by 1 digit in the middle! Whew!
