We don't know the specifics, we know Joe lied and that it looks bad for Hunter. If the Democrats do not have a majority next session there were certainly be an investigation in Congress.

That's a quotation from the Washington Post article. It seems obvious to me that the major media protected Joe by pretending the laptop was Russian disinformation, then avoided commenting on the scandal for so long, and now that they are essentially forced into saying something they continue to protect Joe.
