I don't see how "faith" would deliberately preclude learning about science. After all, there is nothing to suggest that you necessarily have to agree with evolution just by learning about it.

Now, if you're concerned that learning about it might run contrary to your faith, then there seems to be an element of fear there. It's either that or you just can't be bothered.

So which is it?

When it is too painful for one to acknowledge, their person faith belief is wrong, that person will do everything in their power, to convince themselves, the evidence that contradicts their belief, is wrong.

I think it comes down to fear more than anything. When certain faith beliefs are so crucial to one's psyche, the defense mechanisms get over developed and over utilized.

No, it's about not conforming to the beliefs of this world, and living separately from it. Saying you believe in evolution implies that you deny God's power.

Because of the fact that it is never written anywhere in the Bible that man evolved from primitive creatures, nor was anything else a result of evolution, but it was God who created everything.

Is it written in the bible how the internet works? I don't think so, but I would imagine you agree with the science that allows you to post on this site?

Learning about evolution does not require that one "believes" it. In fact, if one believes it is false and wants to make a strong case against it, then learning about what evolutionary theory entails would be the first step. Refusing to learn about it merely demonstrates the weakness of the position of the anti-evolution crowd on this forum.

Which is kinda the whole point of this thread: to give people the opportunity to take a free University-level course on the subject and expand their knowledge.

Does having such a thing as the internet exist deny that God is all powerful? No it doesn't.

In reality, it is not agreeing with a well evidenced theory, because it contradicts your personal faith belief.

The majority of the population believe the earth is round. Do you conform with that worldly belief or do you live separately from that belief as well?

It contradicts the Word of God, and as such, I cannot believe in it.

I have no say in the second matter.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Evolutionists want to see something.

I see how those in the know about evolution are treated (Ken Ham, Kent Hovind, ICR, DI, et.al.).

I'll never know as much as they do.

So learning about evolution is nothing more than a waste of time and money.

I already know evolution runs contrary to my faith.

It's a type of fear you're not familiar with.

It's called THE FEAR OF THE LORD.
pitabread said:

Or maybe I walk by faith and not by sight?

But you accusing me of being Biblical would be like me accusing you of being Biblical, wouldn't it?

You wouldn't understand.

If you did, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

You have no opinion on the shape of the earth?

And on your first point, it contradicts your personal interpretation of scripture, which was written by man.

There is truly nothing for me to learn about from it, seeing as it will not benefit me in anyway.

Whether on not people wish to be led astray from God by satan is not my problem, but I will not be one of them.

The internet is irrelevant to this discussion though.

My post was relevant to the point you brought up, about something not being discussed in the bible. A lot is not discussed in the bible, does that mean all those things we experience in our lives, are not true, because the bible doesn't address them?

You sure seem to be bothered, that the majority of Christians disagree with you though. You don't seem like it isn't a problem for you.

It doesn't affect me in any way what shape the Earth is really.

Would it be possible for you to clarify your second point also? Thanks.

Of course not, but we have gotten to the point where the internet exist, but this does not go against the Bible and God's creation, unlike evolution, which is goes against what is written.

People will believe whatever they wish to, that is something I cannot change, but I will speak out on these topics as they are blasphemous and an abomination to God.

Interestingly enough since the theory of evolution has real-world application, you might end up benefiting from the science whether you know it or not. ;)

What man wrote and last I checked, everything man writes in stories, is either not meant to be taken literal, or it can simply be wrong.

But, with that said, you believe what you like.
