In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I figure another shot a "let's all get along" thread is worth it. What are y'all playing right now?

Just beat Bioshock. Disturbing and stressful but an incredible game! I am taking kotaku.com's "Four in February" challenge and I plan to beat the following four games:

Infamous (PS3)
Alan Wake's American Nightmare (Xbox 360)
Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)
Majora's Mask (N64)

Honorable mention to Hydrophobia and Jet Set Radio if I can get to them this month, my goal is to beat a ton of stuff before I graduate college in May. :D

Edit: I feel its important of me to mention that after a week of insane cramming I beat Mass Effect 1 and 2 on Insanity difficulty. I need to break a bit before ME3.

I would like to try Bioshock sometime. I've heard good things about that.

Currently, I'm playing Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. I've already beat the main plot, gotten to Archmage, and won at two expansion modules for the game, but I've never gotten through all of the Thieves' Guild content, so I am working through that.

Sometime in the next few months, I'll probably get around to playing Skyrim.

Sooner than that, I intend to play Mass Effect 3, in spite of the rumored lame ending. (Don't spoil the ending anyway.)

Regardless of the ending, the game is incredible. Besides the brief expansion of it they released clarifies a lot. Try to focus on the game as whole when you get to it, you won't be disappointed.

I think I left the gaming world a little more than a decade ago because there just wasn't time after getting married. I think Star Wars: Battlefront was the last real game I played. I did a coop through Gears of War I and Halo on the XBox but I suppose that's still ancient by today's standards.

I started with the Atari 2600, worked through the NES, and then went to the PC back when there were EGA graphics and I was spoiled with a Roland MT32 sound module. I never got into the console wars because I couldn't deal with a controller with more than 2 buttons.

I still like Robot Rampage 2 over at LooneyTunes.com as a fun distraction, but if I had the time and money, I'd love to play Ghost Busters on the XBox2, and Super Mario Wii U. For now, I just watch Hank Green (of Vlog Brothers fame), his wife Kathrerine, and their friends Mike and Nick play it...

I just beat the game, "Overlord 2". I have a really really bad habit of starting a game, then stopping and finishing it months later.

Hmm games I've beat in the past month...

Hitman: Absolution
Dishonored
Xcom: Enemies Unknown

All on PC.

eudaimonia,

I finally got around to finishing up ME3, and I finally understood what the controversy over the ending was all about. Even so, the journey is worth it, the game is phenomenal.

I recently picked up Fallout New Vegas, Deus Ex Human Revolution, and Portal 2 on Steam for the way cheap. Haven't tried Deus Ex yet, but Portal 2 seems to live up to its predecessor pretty well so far. New Vegas is the first Fallout game I've really put any time into, and I'm really liking it so far.

Over the summer I picked up a refurbished Super Nintendo, and so it's been a pleasure dusting off some of my old SNES cartridges, been playing through Chrono Trigger for the umteenth time (arguably my favorite game of all time).

And what's become habitual for me, a lot of my time is wasted playing Minecraft.

I started out with the Atari 800 XL, this is the earliest game I can recall playing:

Have you ever tried the Technic Pack?

Kinda neat making quarries and such, automating all your work.

Too many good posts to respond to. TerranceL, I am a huge fan of SpoutCraft and Technic. I think being able to write BASH scripts in the game is pretty sweet. We are building a fully functional nuclear reactor in my world right now, there are 8 people working on it myself included. Next project is a giant damn with a road over top.

Redac, how is CK treating you? I am a big Europa Universalis fan and I know since Paradox makes all of those games the fanbase tends to be similar. What are your thoughts and have you ever played EU?

It also warms my heart to see all of these Mass Effect and Elder Scrolls players. Before my February challenge kicks off I am doing another play through of Dante's Inferno on the Xbox to pick up some more achievements and just for something fun to pass the time.

I've never actually played EU before, though I've had it recommended to me a few times. CKII is a lot more in depth than the first one, and I managed to unify Ireland in my first go-around, so yay me. Lately I've found myself marrying off daughters to various heirs around Europe and then murdering the current kings so they get to be queen. ^_^

I have Victoria II as well, which is pretty fun. Played HOI3 but I'm not as good at the military management.

Here's an idea:

Curse - WoW Addons, Minecraft Mods, Curse Client and Gaming News

Install the Curse client. They've added minecraft to the games it'll add stuff for, but it'll only add texture.

However it will back up and save your worlds, that way if you happen to lose a world because of a crash or something you can always get it back, just remember to backup your worlds often.

Depending how computer savvy you are this next part might not help:

[GUIDE] How to install mods for Minecraft - Minecraft Forum

The program he lists, "Winrar" can be found here: WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files

I've ordered myself a copy of Mass Effect 3, so it looks like I'll be taking a break from Oblivion soon enough.

BTW, the earliest video game that I remember playing was Pong.

The earliest video game that I remember playing on my own box was a simple 2D tank combat game. IIRC, tank combat was the only game it could play.

Currently (as in, this very moment) playing D&D Online.

Generally, I've been playing Oblivion and Skyrim. I love running the Dark Brotherhood quest lines. So much, I usually abandon playing the main quest in favor of just being an assassin.

ETA: Somewhere, I have a pong box. It's still...as functional as one can expect being older than I am.

I played that one briefly. I'm playing Star Trek Online and Star Wars: The Old Republic, but only occasionally.

That's the only quest line that doesn't interest me. Is it any good? What makes it attractive to you?
