Gracious St. Joseph the Betrothed, protect me and my family from all evil as you did the Holy Family. Kindly keep us ever united in the love of Christ, ever fervent in the imitation of the virtue of our Blessed Lady, your sinless spouse, and always faithful in devotion to you. Amen.

Joh 17:9-15
(9) I am asking on their behalf. I am not asking on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those you gave me, for they are yours.
(10) All that is mine is yours, and what is yours is mine, and I have been glorified in them.
(11) I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by your name, the name that you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one.
(12) While I was with them, I protected them by your name that you gave me. I guarded them, and not one of them became lost except the one who was destined for destruction, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
(13) "And now I am coming to you, and I say these things in the world so that they may have my joy completed in themselves.
(14) I have given them your word, and the world has hated them, for they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world.
(15) I am not asking you to take them out of the world but to protect them from the evil one.

Saint Justin the Martyr, pray that in our search for the Truth, God will open the gates of light for us the way God did for you and give us the wisdom no human being can give. Amen

Jam 1:5
(5) But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him.

St. Paul, great convert and Apostle of the Gentiles, you became Christlike and knew only Christ Crucified. Though extremely learned, you relied completely on the Wisdom received from the Spirit and taught from the abundance of your heart. Instruct modern evangelists - those who preach Christ to others. Let them realize that their actions speak louder than any words they may use. Teach them to use their talents in conveying their God-given message but to rely above all on the promptings of the Spirit. Amen.

2Ti 3:15-17
(15) And that from a child thou hast known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
(16) All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
(17) That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

That's exactly what he was doing, except now two people are asking God instead of one.

I don't think he understands that though...

...say, who is your Patron Saint or Saint or Angel you affiliate most with?

You are St. Uriel the Archangel of Repentance,
You are St. Uriel the Archangel of Peace,
You are St. Uriel who holds out the Flame of Love towards all souls,
You are St. Uriel the Archangel who carries the flame of Love to ignite the heart in service to God.

St. Uriel the Archangel, angel of peace, of love, of joy and light, pray for us.

He asked God nothing, he asked a man that probably cannot hear him to ask God.

Probably cannot hear him? Interesting that you'd choose to use this qualifier, because you admit the possibility that you are wrong.

How is he not asking God? How do you know he doesn't ask God directly first or afterward? What makes you think God can't hear petitions to the saints? Why would we ask saints for their prayers if we don't believe in both the power of prayer and the power of God? Why would anyone think that those who have passed on are in complete isolation from those still living - how are we one Church, then?

Clearly not, but it doesn't hurt to point out the truth, anyway.

...say, who is your Patron Saint or Saint or Angel you affiliate most with?

When asking for intercessions, they usually go to St. Paul, St. Stephen the Martyr, St. Maximus the Great Burner of Huts, Francis of Assissi, and of course the Theotokos.

I take it we've been reading prayers to your favorites?

Point? That is completely irrelavent to veneration of icons, which of course depict things/events on earth.

<rolls eyes>
I bow down to my grandparents, or at least I did....God rest their souls.....Bowing down is not limited to "worship".it's a sign of respect............sadly, many in todays culture have lost many signs of respect towards anything, especially their elders..........sign of the times.......quite secular actually.........hints of communism/socialism that have crept into our society and many different cultures...........No thanks!

Wait...AV?!

Like, The "AV" KJV translation that was created under the auspecies of MY ANGLICAN CHURCH?!

So, iannassah, you are trying to convince me, an Anglican, that what my church has done since the 1st century was condemned by the translation of the Bible that under our auspecies was created?

The "AV" translates both latria and doulia as "worship," just as it translated sheol, hades, tartatoo, and gehenna all as "hell" even though they are referred to different places or concepts. Back then English wasn't so concrete; ever even looked at an original 1611? Most people would simply cry out "jibberish!"

Latria is worship given to God only
Doulia is "worship" (better translated as "reverence") can be given to anything else.

I doulia my country. I doulia my parents. I doulia Sts. Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel the Archangels. I hyperdoulia St. Joseph the Betrothed (my Patrong Saint) and St. Mary the Theotokos. However, if I were to latria any of these or others; anything or anyone one except God, I would have instantly excommunicated myself from my church. If I were to receive the Sacraments (with the exceptions of Holy Reconciliation of a Penitent), they would be null and void, and I would have put myself even further into jeopardy.

It is a mortal offense in my church, the Vatican Catholic Church, the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches, the Old Catholic Churches, etc, to practice latria outside to God only. It is, as my Vatican Catholic brothers and sisters would call it, A MORTAL SIN.

So, please, with all due respect, do not argue the AV to an Anglican. It is like telling an Eastern Orthodox how to kiss icons or a Buddhist how to meditate.

Something you people don't know about because you've all apostatized. Congratulations!
