It isn't deception; it is an ability to interpret correctly.

LOL.. Ever heard of speaking truth? For Jesus didn't have any deception in Him. So He would have spoken plainly.
Attacking the Catholic Church with propaganda to try to demonize the Church goes back to Martin Luther who was the first to break from the Catholic Church to try to found his own church. The only way that he could try to justify leaving the Church was to try to demonize it.
So the Protestant Reformers used the newly invented printing press to help them spread anti-Catholic propaganda on a massive scale. And in the process, the Protestant Reformers perfected the technique of spreading twisted history, exaggerations and flat out lies about the Church in order to get people to leave the Catholic Church and join the new Protestant movement.
LOL! I guess you believe in the magic bullet theory too.How about doing a little of historical research? Anyone selling indulgences?

The most effective "anti-Catholic propaganda" was The Bible.

Oh, and that's a strawman... Orthodoxy holds many of the same beliefs concerning the Theotokos as Catholicism, and we certainly will have nothing to do with indulgences. Try again.
Edit the Bible, or set up a Mgesterium to redefine it... I don't see much difference, but I agree if your point is that no matter how respectable his soteriology was, he goofed when he placed the NT books out of chronological order. I guess he wasn't infallible either.Let it be noted that he edited the very canons of the Bible. Nice!
