  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As a 54 year old, I was vaccinated on March 24 with the 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccine at a "drive through" vaccination site. The process was professional and quick (25 minutes) and to date, I have only had some tenderness where the needle was administered for a day or so.

My wife 56, went two weeks earlier to a Walgreen - which was okay, but pharmacy was grossly understaffed for administering vacines. She had the Moderna vaccine. No after effects at all.

We'll see what happens with the 2nd doses when most people seem to experience a stronger immune system response.

No, my body DOES NOT have a shortage of pharmacuetical drugs. A well maintained immune system can and does kill everything that exists...

That simply isn't true.

I have a strong immune system so I Prayed, "What will happen if I get covid?" I heard, "You'll have to go an inhaler again and take more meds for your lungs. So, could I survive it, yes. But not without a cost so as soon as possible I'm getting that vaccine and boosters when they come around.

I was vaccinated yesterday (Pfizer, first dose), at a local community college that has been set up as a vaccination "mega site" by our state. I stood in line for about an hour -- mostly outside, and the day was pleasant, and, y'know, it's nice to get out of the house after a year of lockdown. The staff were very efficient in handling that volume of people, and the line moved quickly.

Today, my arm is a little sore -- kinda like if you bang into a corner of some furniture and get a bruise -- and I'm a little tired, and that's it.

When my county expanded eligibility to anyone over the age of 16 this past week I jumped at the opportunity to get vaccinated. I'm 54 and received my first dose of the Moderna vaccine at a local Walgreens five days ago. I had a little soreness at the site of the injection the following day, but that's it.

Not yet, but I'm 37 and generally in good health. There are people who need the vaccine far more than I do at this point.

My husband, 40, got the J&J vaccine 2 weeks ago with no side effects other than a sore arm for 2 days and being tired the day after. We were both on waitlists, he just happened to be called that day and told to get there in 15 minutes. I'm still trying to get an appointment for whatever is available.

Got an appointment for Tuesday, 60 miles away. I’ve been waiting since February 23. (North of 60 years+conditions.)
Wow, I don't think that should be happening unless you live that far from any clinic, etc., and from any size community.

Not yet. At 52 it my be a while.

....that's what I thought as well. But then suddenly, our governor lowered the age to 16 (from 55). Apparently, there have been a lot of no show's for appointments leading to an excess of available vaccines in the 55 and above range.

As of Monday morning [3/22], the state had had 58,000 unused appointments at its state sites" Arizona Secretary of Health Services "Christ said the state estimated a 55% to 60% update in each prioritized age group, including the current 55- to 64-year-old group. So far statewide, about 42% of that age group has received at least one vaccine dose.
“We anticipated actually having more 55-year-olds that were interested in getting vaccinated, so that’s why we were surprised that we had such leftover appointments this week," she said.
