Hi, I'm from Salt Lake, well actually I live in West Valley but it's still part of Salt Lake City. I don't really like the snow, cause I used to live in a tropical area, so after 8 years, I still hate the coldness and sometimes the stench that comes from the Great Salt Lake, but other than that Salt Lake is a pretty good place to live in. Oh yeah and I am also currently attending UofU, so is anyone attending the U also??

Heh...notice how all the anti-Mormon talk stops cold the moment a Mormon posts in here. I think we need to be more careful about how we speak of Mormons. We should be reaching out to them, not bashing them. We don't see Calvinists bashing Arminians and visa-versa, now do we? :) Nope. So let's make sure to show all theologies the same respect, no matter how strongly we disagree.

God bless

I agree with you. Discuss things not people. I used to be LDS. I have alot of friends who are LDS. ONe of the things that makes this state great is the level of honesty and hard work promoted by the LDS church and while we have crime here it isn't as bad as other places and I give credit where it is due. The LDS people try hard to live their religion :)

I might move down there someday. Washington State is slouching closer towards Gomorrah by the day -- I relate better to family-oriented Utah or Idaho.
i still hate living here. i hate being looked down on because i'm different. however, i do have a lot of good mormon friends.
I'm also sick of mormon bashing. and it pops up a loton thesse forums. kind of sad.

Hate to be a wet towel, but it's kinda slumping in that general direction everywhere, though some places faster than others.

At least by going from news reports.

Sorry to hear that. although one has met a bunch a people in the area that are non LDS, and others who say they are LDS, but one was was very surprised to find out so...

If you live in the cache valleey area, especially around logan you can meet lots of different people on the bus system, it's kinda interesting.

haha, thats were i live. its a lot more diverse then other parts of utah, because of USU. i still hate it here. its hard living somewhere your entire life and never really feeling accepted by your firends. i've had one good non-mormon christian friend, and she lives an hour and a half away. and its always bloody cold, the inversions give me headaches and i hate snow.

Don't worry once it starts warming up, it'll get really warm... Though headaches do suck.
It's been rather warm this last week (comparitively) although it's been kinda weird with it switching between rain and snow all the time the last few days.

I don't know if your LDS friends are being stuck up, or stick-to-
themselvish (for me, one tends to be alone) which is usually the case because of religion - there seems to be a level of "avoid others because you don't want to offend them" sort of mentality.
Then there are the other (LDS) who still need to find out what being LDS means...

Anyways, this one uses the bus system a lot... don't know if you do or not but it is a small world.

Hey if you like graphic novels and Comics the Logan Library has a decent collection of various individual and series stuff (problem is half of it is checked out all the time, seems like) including sandman. Don't know if you have a Logan Library card or not.

i do. i think Logan Library does pretty well with their Fantasy SciFi section. I wish they had more comics and, stuff, but thats ok.
i don't use the buses a lot, its easier for me to drive then go all the way to the nearest bus stop.
most my friends doa fairly good job with religion, its the people i know, but aren't really friends that go ballistic.
Do you go to USU or something?

Oh ... know what you mean there.

yup; that's where my work is.

LoL you consider Logons Comic collection to be small.. You must be used to some really big collections/big libraries! You probably know this but half of their comic section is by the sci-fi/fantasy section, the other half is in the young adult/teen section, kind of out of the way (Which is annoying).
Then they also have the Kid section (which has some very good comics too, ever read asterix and obelix? those are flippin hilarious.) then they usually have a comic section in the arts area, which has more of the sunday paper type comics; dilbert, doonesbury and etc.

Anyways it's grown a lot in the last few years; as of a few years ago their only graphic novels were Ranma 1/2 and a few varied star Trek, a few sandman, and Star Wars comics... now they have all sorts of manga, Marvel, source, and various stand-alone graphics novels

I'm in Utah :) Washington County, to be exact. I'm LDS, but very accepting :) Who cares if you're not mormon too, we're all God's children, and to accuse others of being false/wrong/non-christian is not a Christlike attitude. hehe, Oh, And I had just gotten back from Wisconsin when all the flooding went on, it was interesting.
