There are also many mean-minded, bigoted, truly hate-filled people who will smile at you while doing everything they can to destroy your faith -- and your self-confidence as well if they think they can get away with it.
They will happily tell you that "they love the sinner and hate the sin" and then do everything in their power to make the "sinner's" life a living nightmare; they will tell you that you're an "abomination" and use Scripture as a weapon to cut you off at the knees spiritually and emotionally -- all the while ignoring any Scriptures which could possibly pertain to them.
They'll quote the same seven Scriptures over and over and OVER again because they seem to believe that nobody but them has ever read Scripture; and even if we have read Scripture (including the original Greek and Hebrew) that doesn't really matter: their intepretation is the only "correct" one.
They'll pick you apart while telling you that they're interested "in your salvation" while conveniently overlooking every flaw they have in their own moral character -- and don't try pointing their flaws out to them because frankly, they're not interested; and they are veritable masters at minding everybody else's business but their own. You'll quickly figure out who these people are: avoid them like the plague.
Here is a list of 38 Ways To Win An Argument With a Liberal. It's a compendium of all the things you'll hear from some not-so-well-meaning as they do everything in their power to sabotage your arguments and your faith in order for them to reach the Holy Grail of "being right". Become very familiar with it: these are actual statements you're going to hear on this messageboard and others like this one.
Oh -- and if you'll PM me, I can direct you to some other sites where people actually talk the talk and walk the walk about being Christian (regardless of sexual orientation). Even when people disagree, they've learned the art of disagreeing agreeably -- something which is in terribly short supply here at CF.
The relationships are referred to as being unnatural. the Greek words physin and paraphysin have been translated to mean natural and unnatural respectively. Contrary to popular belief, the word paraphysin does not mean "to go against the laws of nature", but rather engage in action(s) which is uncharacteristic for that person. An example of the word paraphysin is used in Romans 11:24, where God acts in an uncharacteristic (paraphysin) way to accept the Gentiles. Thus the passages correctly reads that it would be unnatural for heterosexuals to live as homosexuals, and for homosexuals to live as heterosexuals.Kgreg said:That's not true. Romans 1 is pretty clear about "natural function" and "unatural".

Romans 1 isnt a cndmenation of homosexuals rather it is a condemnation of ex-gay ministries

So you agree that there can be an orientation rather than a choice. So if pedophilia can be an orientation, why can't homosexuality be an orientation?Brennin said:My point is that they do not appear to "choose" to be attracted to children. Thus, an "orientation" is not justification in and of itself.

Why does homosexuality need to be justified? What actual harm is caused by homosexuality?Brennin said:My point is that they do not appear to "choose" to be attracted to children. Thus, an "orientation" is not justification in and of itself.
