• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Furthermore, I don't attempt to tell people what's right or wrong or make claims that my dreams reflect reality. Bad analogy again.
Actually it is a good analogy. Show me proof that you dreamt last night.

No, Crazy is quite correct, it is a bad analogy.

We have documented evidence that dreams do occur. We know that humans dream every night, even if they do not remeber. So logically it follows that we all dreamed last night while we slep.

See, this is the difference between an idea based on evidence and one based on desire. We have evidence for the exstence of dreams, so we can draw conclusions based on this evidence. When we test these conclusions in a lab, they are shown to be correct.

You cannot do the same with religious belief.

Irrelevent.

Backup and refamiliarize yourself with the point. See page 25-27.

The issue is the lack of evidence for some god given law that you say should be imposed upon others.

Dreaming has been demonstrated to exist. REM Sleep. God given laws have not been demonstrated.

Furthermore, whether I dream or not has nothing to do with the fact that I make no claim that my dreams reflect reality in any way and I certainly do not attempt claim that what I dream should be imposed upon others.

Bad analogy in all directions.

Which God given law do I say should be imposed on others?

Exactly. You claim you dreamt last night. You believe you did. You can't prove it.
I do not doubt anyone´s encounters with gods or whomever and don´t ask for evidence that they encountered it, just like I don´t ask for evidence that someone had the dream he had. I merely doubt that those encounters point somewhere outside of them, just like I do with dreams.

Ok first of all yes i am gay, but what you all don't seem to understand is being gay is not a choice  i was never attracted to girls even in primary school but my feelings for men started when i was 12, i did not choose to be gay it just happend i can't help it.

You think i would go through all the heartache of homophobia, My parents won't speak to me. people think gay people are people who act like girls well they are not (well not me anyway) i am just a normal guy who likes Guys

I know none off you will agree with me and you will think i should be dead and that i should be prayed for

I am just making my point
You have my support!
You will find that the ones who don't like homosexual don't have any gay friends and don't want to know any. so be proud of who you are.
