I'm back from my appt and visiting my sis! She has switched doctors. Seems crazy to switch at such a late date in her pregnancy but now she is so much closer and I think she will get much better care there. Looking fwd to seeing what she finds out at her appt tomorrow. As for me, I finally found a doctor that listens to me and it was great!! When I told her my dr wouldn't do the prog test, she gave me this really funny look. She called my regular hosp and ordered 5 diff blood tests. Also ordered a blood test for hubby - something about matching chromosomes. I think I understand it all. I'm just so glad to be getting these tests done. If they all come back fine, they will do the HSG test. Since it's going to cost us quite a bit, even after insurance, I'll have to make sure I can come up with the money before I go in. So I might have to wait a little on that. So that's my update - and I feel so much better today!! I love my new specialist!! :) How is everyone else doing??

my test was negative :( however I'm still giving it a couple of days.. cause i've been reading that spotting can mean ovulation too.. which would mean a few more days before testing... spotting with ovulation is more common than spotting with implantation.. but I just want to cover all my bases before starting new meds.

We are considering going unmedicated again.. and just using OPK's.. Or just DTD every other or every night from the day my period ends till my next one starts.. or I get a + test lol.... Hopefully the first round of clomid will work and we won't have to do that. We just want to save some money.. it's getting expensive.

my dr. wants me to do that (HSG) if I don't get pregnant this next cycle on my first cycle with clomid. But I don't know since insurance doesn't cover it.. how much does it cost??
I got the statement from my insurance company, and the cost was $294. I know the cost varies across the country, though. According to another forum I visit, it can range anywhere from $300 - $1500. From what I've read, having it done at a free-standing center instead of at a hospital will cost less. I would see what diagnostic center your doctor uses and contact them to see how much it will be. And if he routinely uses a hospital, see if there is a free-standing center that he/she will use instead. Also, see if your doctor will code it as "diagnostic" or "pelvic pain" instead of "infertility"; insurance companies are more likely to pay that way.

I just talked to my specialist about this test. For me, it's about $700. At least that's what they told me. I told my insurance company that they are doing it to find out why I've had m/c's rather than infertility. When you use the word infertility, they tend to not want to pay. Telling them it is to find out why I've had m/c's, they are paying everything but what I haven't met in my deductible, plus the 20% I always have to pay - so I'll be getting it done for about $350 out of my own pocket.

Ladies, could I trouble you for some more prayers please? You have probably seen that I have been quite unwell these past two weeks. I am recovering and the worst of it is well and truly over.

But I am undergoing some tests because we are not sure what is wrong with me. Apparently in cases like mine, a cause is found only 50% of the time. I really want this to be treatable because, while my life is not in danger, it may mean that will not be able to carry a child to term. I long to be a mother to living children - something I am sure you all understand.

I find out the results to the tests I had today next Tuesday. If we find nothing there are two more sets of tests I have to undergo (one of them surgical) so we're praying that these tests will give us some answers.

 I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time. It took my parents about five years to conceive my oldest brother, and they went on to have four kids. Don't give up hope!

Does anyone ever have very realistic type dreams about either being pregnant or actually having a baby in your arms? I have one of these types of dreams every couple of months and it's incredibly hard.

I've never had one until we started TTC a year ago... just wondering if anyone else experiences this?

Definitely praying for you! :prayer:You must be using all your strength to get well and keep hope alive.

No, but I have recently had two horribly vivid dreams in which I was miscarrying a baby I was carrying... the fetus fell in the toilet and it was just

I'm sorry you have to deal with all the emotions at night as well as during the day. It would be good to have a rest, I'm sure.

I did have dreams about having a baby when we were ttc. I saw them as a promise from God - a sign of hope that we would conceive. I'm praying that you do conceive soon.

I have those dreams occasionally.. and did even before the ttc.. but they are more vivid now. The other day we were discussing adoption.. and since then I've been having dreams about that. But I still have dreams about having our own too.

I have had some very vivid dreams the past few nights - last night I gave birth to Tony Stewart's baby (he's a NASCAR driver). It was an adorable little girl too.
LOL.. Tony Stewart is my favorite driver! that is funny!
