I been so sad lately about marriage & how I don't think I can be married. It's so heartbreaking. My singleness just goes on and on and on. It's like one isn't for me. I been doing well posting here & at good discussions at church, but I just never get married. It's like it's never enough. It's so sad. It's like I can't. I try hard but it's never enough. I can't get married & It's so heartbreaking.
I been thinking about this parable. I remember walking into the Thanksgiving banquet this year & thinking of the Great Banquet yet to come. It is a parable of the Great Banquet.
"When you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind...............At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited.....................But they all alike began to make excuses..................Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame................," Luke 14
“If I said something wrong,” Jesus replied, “testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?” John 18.
“You say that I am a king. The reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
“What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this, he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him.
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world; if it were, My servants would fight to prevent My arrest"
God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. Acts 2.
Who is The Risen King? Truth. The Word of God. And The Word Became Flesh.
Here's some more
"I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. He, the
Spirit of Truth, comes. He will guide you into all the
truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.......... The Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” - John 16
"Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled" Ephesians 6
Aids for Truth.
You see a picture of blind people feeling a different elephant, they all have an idea of what it is, it's usually a parable to illustrate different people have an idea of what something is & neither is wrong b/c they can't know it, but the Truth is there, an elephant is an elephant. It doesn't change based on what an individual is feeling.
