Good Grief, remember 2016 and the Entertainment Tonight video where he bragged about kissing women and grabbing them in the privates?
He was vulgar then. He said bizarre things through and after his presidency. Don't blame Biden for Trump's vulgarity,
Remember that Trump first ran for president after 8 years of an Obama/Biden admistration. My only point is that the American people are more concerned about policy and performance over personality and mean tweets. In the end, people care more about whether or not they can afford to put food on the table over Trump's comments about Arnald Palmer's anatomy. The Harris campaign cannot run on their policies nor performance, and Kamala is activily trying to separate herself from Biden. Yet, she is unwilling or unable to clarify how her direction for the country will be different from her predecessor. This is troublesome considering that 74% of the American people say that the country is going in the wrong direction. So again, with all things being said about Trump's activity, how can you explain why so many people, including myself, are willing to ignore it? The polls confirm this to be true. Blessings.

IMHO, what you express is unrealistic and idealized. Trump is no savior. He isn't willing to die for America. He is running to keep himself out of jail and because he wants power. There is a reason so many people from his last adminstration regard him as dangerous and unfit.
And still better than Harris.

This is a video of Trump talkinng to people without a teleprompter
If you aren't looking at him, he is as sharp as any younger person.

My mother died at 90. She was creeping around an old folks home with a walker but if I spoke to her on the phone, she was still the same intelligence, mental acuity, memory as when she was 30

Watch the video:
The "false witness" of Trurmps dementia is fully evident here
Actually, Trump did not do so well at that barbershop.

During a recent visit to a New York barbershop, Donald Trump was asked for his solution to improving schools in the Bronx. His rambling, hard-to-interpret answer quickly devolved into a conspiracy theory.
“Mr. President, I have a 5-year-old son that’s in public schools right now. I have a lot of people asking me questions, as far as the failing school systems that we have here in the Bronx,” Javier Rodriguez, the co-owner of Knockout Barber, told the former president during the town hall-like event. “What are we going to do to improve that and our school systems?”
Trump replied:

Well, we’re moving them back from Washington, where you have people that don’t care about New York, frankly. You know, in Washington, I don’t know if you ever noticed that you got Department of Education, Department of Education. You got half the buildings are Department of Education. I never saw. You don’t need any of them. You know, I want one person and a secretary to just make sure they’re teaching English. OK? Give a little English, OK? I say reading, writing and arithmetic. No transgender, no operations. You know, they take your kid. There are some places — your boy leaves the school, comes back a girl, OK? Without parental consent. What is that all about? That’s like, that’s when they talk about a threat to democracy, they’re a threat.

That was ridiculous, and was seen as such.

He isn't willing to die for America.
The failed assassination attempt that took off a chunk of his ear says otherwise. Considering that he is still running for president and handing out McDonald's Happy Meals in Pennsylvania in spite of the physical risk.

Ok, so my clues are that it is an adult and it is not Harris.

Jill Stein?
Me too, It is Harris for me.
I can't vote for a man who uses childish name calling, speaks at a 4th grade level, is vulgar like a schoolboy and talks about genatalia like he does.

Then so is Harris, even though no one took a shot at her. There is always a possibility for any candidate. It is nothing special about Trump.

Your view of Romney is much different than mine.
Many Republicans see Romney as a RINO (Republican In Name Only), and not as a true conservative Republican.
My recollection is that Romney was only branded a "RINO" because he opposed Trump. Can you articulate what it is about Romney that makes him "not a true conservative Republican"?

My recollection serves me differently. Romney was determined to be a RINO long before Trump hit the scene.

I can, but am not going to.

What does it say about Kamala if Trump defeats her by closing with Arnald Palmer's stuff?
It says a lot more about the degradation of the electorate and what Trump has normalized..

Right, so you can't.
No, I won't get into it because ...

Romney is old news. He is retiring. No point at all in talking about him anymore. But of course, you can!

@FreeinChrist posted this Trump Quote

@QvQ
That quote makes perfect sense. Trump is talking about the Department of Education. Right now the entire school curriculum is dicated from on high, the Federal Level.

Trump is saying one perrson and a secretary to check on whether children can read write and do math.

Now we have thousands if not millions of people in Washington dictating that chilcren be properly schooled in social justice, the sexual positions, the many genders and whether or not they are victims or oppressors.
And watching to see that all proper pronouns are used and the bathrooms are co-ed.
Trump has a few minutes to talk about his policiies. He has heard the complaints. He is acknowleging them.

If that's your point, then you're just wrong. Nobody voted for him in the 2016 primaries because of his policies except for those that liked overt racism as a policy. His personality and mean tweets were what set him apart and why folks voted for him as a "tough guy" or a "fighter."

In the end, people care more about whether or not they can afford to put food on the table over Trump's comments about Arnald Palmer's anatomy.
They may say that; they may even think that; but they do an absolutely terrible job of actually analyzing the policies that he espouses and determining what the outcomes of those policies will be. The tariffs he's proposing would make lots of things much more expensive, with little benefit.

So again, with all things being said about Trump's activity, how can you explain why so many people, including myself, are willing to ignore it?
Gullibility? Mass delusion?

I mean, seriously - the number of arguments we have to have here about basic facts illustrates how poorly so many people understand so many issues.

If you're so concerned about your future economic prospects, why aren't you afraid of Trump's massive tariff plan?

Considering that he is still running for president and handing out McDonald's Happy Meals in Pennsylvania in spite of the physical risk.
What physical risk? Fry oil splashing on his shoes? The restaurant was closed when he did that and the "customers" were pre-screened supporters.

Trump noted that tariffs were the means of funding the Federal government prior to the Income Tax Amendment, 1913.
There is a long history of tariffs in this country and it worked very well.
Tariffs are a better means of regulating international trade than treaties like NAFTA as tariffs are flexible.
Tariffs are Constitutional and have a long history in this country

It's relevant in that we're discussing what makes a good Republican candidate.

In response to this:

No it doesn't. That does not answer the question asked. There were no specifics at all. He is simply repeating his campaign slogans based on nothing at al.

Getting rid of the Department of Education would hurt schools. The DoE provides many grants for teacher education and teacher incentive programs besides other programs and funds to schools.
Plus, students need more than reading and writing and arithmetic. They need science like biology and chemistry and physics. They need training on computers and programming. They need exposure to art and music. They need business education, and life skills like how to manage a bank account, and to educated about credit card debts and skills so they can work in a business office. Trump seems to lack any understanding of education.

And if the school needs parental permission just to give a Tylenol to a child with a headache or fever, they can't get a sex change at school. That is utterly ridiculous.

I worked in education. The curriculum used was developed using the standards by the DoE but was also presented to parents for discussion and approval. It was not dictated from on high. Districts in Arizona each chose what exact books they would use for the various courses. They also chose what additions they can add regarding the arts or cultural events. The parents had a great deal of sway with much of this.

Trump noted that tariffs were basically the only means of funding the government prior to the Income Tax Amendment, 1913.

Yeah, slavery was constitutional and had an even longer history; that doesn't mean it shouldn't be resigned to the dustbin of history.

Tariffs are fine if your domestic industry is young and unable to compete with foreign industry - it can be good to pay higher prices for greater independence. That's why I don't necessarily have a problem with tariffs (or their counterpart - subsidies) on certain strategic goods like computer chips.

But the US economy of today is not the US economy of 1913. We're far more advanced than we were then and there are many low-cost products that we're unlikely to make here ever again; all tariffs will do is raise prices. Additionally, the US government of today is not the US government of 1913. In 1929 (as far back as this data goes), federal outlays were just under 3% of GDP; today they're over 22%.

Is Trump going to raise tariffs enough to fund a government some 7+ times larger than it was 100 years ago?

And what happened in 1929 when we slapped big tariffs on everything? It tanked trade with Europe and likely worsened the depression by some amount.
