Fine. Dont vote D. But how the heck did we end up with this guy being the other option?
Well, obviously, he won each and every GOP primary across the USA.

Exactly. There were other options on the table, all of whom would be an R voters preference over Biden. But no, we got this guy.

We got this guy because a huge majority of Republican voters in the primary chose Trump over the rest of the choices.

You and I both know the issue isnt the mechanics of voting. Its about whatever pathogen has infected the American political mind.

Is that what guys do in golf club locker rooms, look around at each others.... drivers... and compare sizes? Or was it just Trump doing this?
According to Maggie Haberman's 2022 book Confidence Man, Trump told a similar story in 2020 with himself as the observer.

In one of the most memorable, as he prepared for a trip to Latrobe, Pennsylvania, for a rally in late 2020, Trump recounted for Oval Office guests the time he had seen hometown golf legend Arnold Palmer disrobed at the Latrobe Country Club

Well the oval office hasnt been the same since pres Clinton and the intern. Probably before that actually. But youre supposed to hide all that, not blab about it for youtube.

I don't believe that a pathogen has infected the American political mind.

We have many things to be praying about, don't we? ...
:praying:
Agreed, sister in Christ. Pray for a peace in this world, a peace given to us by Jesus. So many End Times technologies and bickering in 2024, this is a sad time for the world. Also, pray for France, as that country is going through a religious falling out.

I am not talking about just 'f' bombs.

Trump was giving a campaign speech yet he talks about everything else, incoherently much of the time. There was no reason to talk about Arnold Palmer much less talk about him as he did. But imho, he has no class at all.

I am honestly not surprized he defended Harvey Weinstein. Or that he acted like a duck tonight. Or that he dozes off at events. Or that he looks exhausted or that he fails to answer questions at town halls.
His age is showing. He is not fit for the job mentally or morally.
“Locker-room talk” is A-okay since at least 2016.

I would have preferred a different candidate. But I can't vote in primaries because I'm a registered independent.

But at least the Republicans got to choose their candidate through open and honest primary voting, unlike the Democrats who had their candidate chosen for them.

Sadly, I don't believe I'll be able to cast a vote for either candidate. I cannot put my support behind either candidate.

But the election literally is a “popularity contest”.
Not necessarily. I believe it is more accurate to call the POTUS election an electoral college contest.

I’m voting for a leader, not a homecoming king/queen.

As the campaigns are coming to the closing weeks, is Trump focusing on what he can do for Americans? On how he will lift them up? Clarifying any policies? NOPE.

In Latrobe, PA, Trump really lowered his standards and became more vulgar than ever.

Former President Trump highlighted the size of the late golf legend Arnold Palmer’s genitalia during a rally Saturday evening in Pennsylvania, a critical battleground state that will be decisive in determining which party wins the White House in a little more than two weeks.
The rally took place in Latrobe, Pa., the birthplace of Palmer, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time and who died in 2016 at the age of 87. Although it is common for political candidates to name-check hometown heroes during their travels, Trump’s focus on Palmer’s genitalia was peculiar.....
The campaign of Trump’s rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, mocked the former president’s comment.
“Trump’s Pennsylvania Closing Argument Is Literal Junk,” Harris’ campaign said in a statement. “In a Pennsylvania rally speech his campaign team billed as ‘the beginning of his closing argument in the final stretch,’ Donald Trump focused on the issue most important to voters in this election: a deceased golfer’s … anatomy.”

Just locker room talk, like 'grabbing them by" the privates in 2016?
Arnold Palmer's family is not impressed with Trump.

His daughter told The Sporting News in 2018 that the golf legend, a conservative who was friendly with Dwight D. Eisenhower, was so incensed by what he saw as Trump’s lack of civility that he made noises of disgust when Trump appeared on the television....
“My dad had no patience for people who demean other people in public,” she added. “He had no patience for people who are dishonest and cheat. My dad was disciplined. He wanted to be a good role model. He was appalled by Trump’s lack of civility and what he began to see as Trump’s lack of character.”

A couple days ago, Trump was on the Dan Bongino Show podcast, and was very vulgar.

Seems he felt Harvey Weinstein, who was convicted of multiple counts of rape and sexual assault, was screwed - using the most polite term I am confortable with. Donald Trump used a vulgar term.

Is Trump just that vulgar and uncouth, or is this from dementia?

He is cancelling events, looks haggard and tired. He dozed through the RNC. Just the other day, he was falling asleep at a campaign event.

Trump was attending a roundtable in the swing state of Michigan when he seemingly nodded off, with the former president closing his eyes as an Oakland County community member talked about the region’s educational issues....
Trump’s bout of drowsiness comes after he canceled multiple interviews this week, with Politico reporting an adviser told the show’s producers Trump was “exhausted and refusing [some] interviews but that could change.”

So is he exhausted and being more vulgar than usual, or is it dementia? What kind of closing argument is this?
What does it say about Kamala if Trump defeats her by closing with Arnald Palmer's stuff? I honestly think that things have gotten so bad since Biden took office that most people don't even care about these things anymore.

....allegedly (according to Trump), other unnamed golfer(s) told him this....it's really weird that Trump would remember that...much less using it in a campaign speech for POTUS...
At least it is progress - in that GOP leadership is now acknowledging anonymous sources are acceptable and not fake news?
Not that one would reasonably expect any sort of consistency in applying this view.

It doesn't matter. The "religious right' still approve or make excuses. Same with "enemy within" and military remarks.

Good Grief, remember 2016 and the Entertainment Tonight video where he bragged about kissing women and grabbing them in the privates?
He was vulgar then. He said bizarre things through and after his presidency. Don't blame Biden for Trump's vulgarity,
