Actually the Baby boomers were more individualistic, & more socially conscious then their previous parents generation but maintained traditional values as they grew older. They became highly successful , the most health conscious generation so far & were successful workaholics who built much of the infrastructure we have today. It seems particularly bad among Baby Boomers, who are one of the most narcissistic generations ever. This was, after all, the original "me" generation.
Yovanovitch should have run for president then ... and then she could have led the nation and implemented foreign policy in the manner she wants to.
Given that she didn't do that, her job was to implement foreign policy for Donald Trump. It's not complicated.

They were a generation that grew up in a time when jobs were plentiful, working people made good money and housing could be bought at low cost. We're talking about white boomers not black boomers obviously, given that for much of that time black boomers were still being treated like sub-humans by much of the country.
Personally, I never think of people's race when I meet & interact with people. Race never comes into the conversation. They were a generation that grew up in a time when jobs were plentiful, working people made good money and housing could be bought at low cost. I disagree, they did not play it safe, they were creative & hard workers, and having a strong sense of individual freedom is not a definition of narcissism, sorry. We will have to agree to disagree.Exactly. Boomers learned to be conservative, individualistic, and play it safe because that's what payed off for them. Hence the narcissism.
Younger people, though, realize that kind of world doesn't exist anymore, and the ones that haven't been discouraged through tacit voter supprression and cynical apathy (brought to you by their elders, the boomers) realize that solidarity and political action is needed to address problems that are bigger than the individual. That's what fuels politicians like Ocasio-Cortez. She's not a radical as much as she's simply from a different generation. And the Boomers just look at her and see an extremist.

I guess that defines "your" family.Being a hard worker and being creative are two different things.
My dad played it extremely safe, so did most of the boomers in my family. None were entrepreneurs or artists or anything like that. And it did pay off for them financially, for the most part. They pursued jobs in the military or in large corporations. That's very conservative and very safe.
Stereo-typing and bigotry is founded on racial emphasis.

It's funny how often that kind of statement is made by people who are part of the racial majority rather than minority. Not always, but usually.
"I don't even see color!' tends to ring a little hollow if you've spent your life experiencing racism and your family members actually lived through a time when they were literally treated like sub-humans who couldn't even look at a white person directly without receiving a beating or worse.
Sad , only read your first line which is very prejudiced & didn't desire to read further. It's funny how often that kind of statement is made by people who are part of the racial majority rather than minority.
Whatever you say.Bill Gates and Steve Jobs were not typical boomers. Most boomers had their rebellious fun in the 60's and 70's and then had kids, felt parental induced guilt, and swung conservative in a reactionary manner, including all the instincts for security that we see on display in today's political landscape.

Witness intimidation during her sworn-in testimony is not the same as merely critcizing someone.
That hasn’t been my experience. I’ve known plenty of older people who think they know everything. And that’s not even limited to the Fox News-viewing crowd.
Except absolutely no-one has produced any evidence showing her not implementing Donald Trump's stated foreign policy.
