If the government forced me to stay in jail without bail for many months, I would have also sought to get a plea deal.
Many people have survived being jailed to prevail in their “war”.
Maybe future generations will have to learn all of their names in history class, after they carve the slabs.

Trump only? Hardly. Such a recipe for disaster via backfire. After Trump pardons them maybe he'll add them to his administration.
White House Dog Catcher/HHS Director?
win-win!

So, then, only 2 people out of over 1200 people?

It's actually 14. 6 "Oathkeepers" and 4 "Proud Boys" have been convicted of Seditious Conspiracy at trial. 4 more total plead guilty.

Seditious conspiracy is indeed a very serious crime. I am glad that only 14 out of more than 1200 were charged with that very serious felony.
What happened on January 6th never ever should have happened. I do NOT condone what any of those protestors did.
At the same time, I truly do believe that the vast majority of those 1230 protestors are being treated extremely unfairly by the Department of Justice.

Ah, so you support bail reform? Good, good. George Soros will be mailing you a welcome packet shortly, with guidance on which DA’s to vote for.

There are three reasons for punishment. Retribution, protection of the public, and as a warning to others. In this case it was most definitely the last that was first and foremost. Do NOT mess with the democratic process. Or you WILL suffer the consequences. Well, at least the rabble has. One guy is still waiting for his turn in court.

There is one way to avoid having to make a plea and staying out of jail.

Trump and his enablers are describing those imprisoned for their January 6th activities as "hostages".

On Saturday’s third anniversary of the riot, Trump called on President Joe Biden to “release the J6 hostages.”

Rep. Elise Stefanik, [#3 in the House] R-N.Y., then parroted Trump during an interview Sunday on “Meet the Press.”

These individiuals are not hostages. As of today, the only prominent Republican to push back on this language is Liz Cheney:

In an interview with Cheney, CBS News “Face the Nation” anchor Margaret Brennan noted how Stefanik’s remarks echo the word Trump used to refer to the prisoners, to which Cheney said, “That’s why she’s using it.”

“It’s outrageous and it’s disgusting,” Cheney continued. “And if you … go and you look at what individuals have been convicted for, who are incarcerated, you’ll find it, you know, extensively, these are people who were involved in violence against police officers in the assault on the Capitol. And it is really disgraceful for Donald Trump be saying what he’s saying and then for those who [are] attempting to enable him or attempting to further their own political careers [to] repeat it.”

“It’s a disgrace, and you cannot say you are a member of a party that believes in the rule of law, you cannot say you are pro-law enforcement if you then go out and you say these people are ‘hostages,’ it’s disgraceful,” Cheney added.

...not a peep from Republican leaders.
There are very few Republicans, who hold office, that are patriotic these days. Liz Cheney was one of these.

Do y'all have any clue as to how many J6 prisoners have been kept in jail without being allowed to post a reasonable bond, or any kind of bond, in order to be released from jail before being tried in a court of law?
How many?

Off the top of my head, I remember that there were about a dozen, perhaps more, of them.
That’s an interesting approach to politics.

If Joe Biden were to get low approval ratings would he then stop being a Democrat or does this theory only apply to poor polling Republicans?

Out of the thousands who were in attendance on Jan 6, they what, just picked a dozen random Trump supporters to unfairly persecute for several years?

How does that even make any sense to you?

Don't know, don't care.

Why didn't trump provide the bond cash to let his people go? What kind of billionaire ruler over his people is he?

If there were any illegal actions by the police or the courts, please point them out.

By the way, y'all ain't helping your point of view very much at all when you quote Liz Cheney. In my opinion, if she really really is a Republican, then I was born on the planet of Mars.
I don't care if she calls herself a Republican because the vast majority of Republicans in her own state don't want her and she has extremely low approval ratings from Republicans.
No true republican likes to see justice done?

The only regret I feel about this is the fact Mr Trump is not in there with them to face his own responsibility for the un-American scheme to overturn his loss. He is still using those people in jail to peddle his insidious "hostage" lies for his own "presidential" campaign.
he will use them for all they are worth, and if they turn on him, then use them some more. It is an interesting method he uses.

Whereas rioters from the summer of 2020 were able to post bail before going to trial.... but how many of those rioters are now in prison?
What about those other rioters in 2020? They are not the issue. What about Trump? He was able to use his money (thanks to millions in contributions from his poorer supporters) to post his bond. Why isn't he helping? Have you sent $$ to help the incarcerated 'hostages'?

Yes.....
"Prosecutors argue that the seriousness of the crimes, potential flight risk, and potential danger to the community justify high bond or denial of bond entirely for some defendants. They point to instances of threats made against government officials and ongoing attempts to overturn the 2020 election as evidence of potential danger."
How many? Dont know.
