Treasury Secretary subtly rebuked by the President

Apparently, the Chinese canceled their recent, planned farm visits to the Midwest at the request of the US delegation!. The President was surprised (check out the embedded video) and so was I. Anyway, apparently the Chinese are buying and have committed to US ag purchases.

Thanks for posting that. I. saw news text yesterday on singapore news channel, about Chinese delegation put off visit to USA farms.

Last month, Sheldon Adelson on a phone call, warned Trump about effects of trade war. Adelson, a republican, donated about $123 million to Trump's campaign last election.

American Frontline examined the trade war effects recently, citing an example that although China factories assembled the hand phones, however, ths various components in the phone are from Japan, S Korea and other countries. While Trump targets China, it affects other countries too. Japan just reported decline in manufacturing index. USA manufacturing appears to be in recession. It is not a simple black and white scenario.

The China economy is slowing a lot too. But even witbout a deal, China will just look for new markets. The Chinese can survive a slowdown, they are not going to the polls and CCCP poliburo is secure. Trump warns China not to wait until post 2020 to cut a deal, but by then, will he be the one negotiating with them?
