Has it ever occurred to you that homosexuality is a crime without a victim? You may not like homosexuality, but it is only wrong to some Christians because they define it as wrong.

It is not intrinsically harmful.

In fact any harm associated with homosexuality is actually done to homosexuals by those who vilify and reject them.

OB

All the more reason why I'm not an evangelical Christian myself. I grew up around it and there's no way I would ever go back to it. It's one of the main reasons why I'm a liberal now. I know from personal experience what it's like to be treated like I'm a worthless waste of space by these kind of Christians. I will never stand idly by and do nothing while these Christians mistreat and vilify LGBT. I will always stand up for LGBT rights and equality, as I have for the last few years of my life.

I'm a Christian myself, but I don't believe the Bible to be inerrant and infallible. I wouldn't use some of its OT commandments to teach morality to my own children either. I don't expect some Christians to actually live up to what they preach on this site in their IRL either, but they talk a good game.

I cant believe on a Christian forum i have to post this, but since you dont think the bible is infallible, which means you dont think its the word of God.

What does the Bible say about homosexuality? | CARM.org

Sure there are lots of sins. We all know that, thats not the point.
The point is the homosexual doesnt repent and change his/her ways, they wont even admit its a sin.
So how can anyone who believes in Jesus fight for the rights of their fellow man to sin, is beyond me. Clearly you are enabling them, the same way as if you said its ok to steal, to murder, to rape, to be greedy, to do any other sin. You dont say, "Hey thats sinful you should stop and think about your imnortal soul (you do believe in that right) and repent, and change your ways", You say, "Hey keep right on sinning, its your free will to do so, i think its great", which is an enabler of sin.

If Jesus (The 2nd member of the trinity) didnt care, ge would have left it out, or just condoned it. But alas, he didnt. His apostles, or prophets didnt (they got Divine inspiration you know) they were very SPECIFIC is calling it a sin, evil, bad, abomination.

The lack of an actual answer is telling.

Why are you here then?

I mean, what do you want me to say when you deny the bible?
Your question is so, how do i put this without you reporting me...........

Fatuous

It borders on absurd, that on a CHRISTIAN FORUM you deny the validity of the Bible, then demand WE/I provide you with TRUTH, to prove to you, that its the real Word of God.

How about this, go read the bible cover to cover, pray and come back here.

Lord Have Mercy!

The bible doesn't teach us that God is tolerant of people who willingly continue sinning. What people teach as "tolerance" these days is laughable. It ends up as, "You have to accept what I do, but I can tell you what you can and cannot do or say, and I'll call you a bigot, homophobe, racist, etc. if you do anything that "offends" me."
Isn't it far more likely that people are called bigot, homophobe, racist because that is what they are acting like?

CARM?! Oh brother. SMH. I know that I can't actually dispute the theological nonsense of CARM regarding homosexuality because promoting homosexuality isn't allowed on this site. Members are only allowed to discuss homosexuality from a political, legal, historical, and civil rights point of view. Relying on CARM for theological advise and knowledge is like relying on the National Enquirer for honest and accurate news about today's current events. If someone were actually interested in learning the truth about the original language of the Bible, they could very easily find out that there was no word in Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek for "homosexual" or "homosexuality." I asked a Jewish Rabbi I know if that was true when I first heard that and he said it was correct. But again, I don't think I could go into further detail about that without it being considered promoting homosexuality.

And isn't interesting how I hear so many evangelical Christians bring up the verses in Leviticus of the Old Testament and then turn around and insist that the Old Testament no longer applies and we're all under the New Covenant of the New Testament. And it's a good thing that we no longer follow Old Testament commandments because there would be an awful lot of people, including Christians, who could possibly find themselves facing a stoning for committing adultery. Sorry Donald and Melania, that's too bad for you two. And the record, I think the Bible in its current state has been tampered with and filled with some of its the writers or publishers own personal prejudices. Case in point, the words homosexual and homosexuality not being present in the original language of the Bible.

but nothing about your posting false witness here? One would think icons concerned about providing a Christian environment would bring this up.
I'm literally leaving it to the viewers to decide whether or not the exchanges on pages 1 and 2 are for me or are for you. Clinton playbook: "depends on what the definition of is, is." I expect nothing else on Christian aka atheist and world religions and politics forums.

Lol not even close. My brother is gay and all about LGBT. He's my best friend and a great uncle to my kids. The kids know what gay is and they respect people. They don't get to go to a trans book reading with a demon creature on the cover... Because it's SIN

Not sure why you'd come to a Christian forum and expect us to ageee that sins should be encouraged, that we should toss out biblical teachings.
This was addressed to Silver Bear, but it a question that might reasonably be addressed to many non-Christians who particiapte here, so I'll throw in my thoughts on the matter and they might inform your reading of any posts of mine you read will, perhaps, be applicable to the posts of others.

I don't think many people would encourage sinning, but quite a few people might deny the concept of sin, preferring to talk about immoral behaviour. Sin has an implicit religious back story and so is a misleading word for many atheists and agnostics, and perhaps also for some from other religions. Then, setting psychopaths and some sociopaths aside, very few people would encourage immoral behaviour.

The heart of the matter, however, is what constitutes immoral behaviour, or sin? In regard to sin I have read of numerous Christians who defend homosexuality and assert that it is not a sin. That's a theological issue you need to take up with them.

As to tossing out Biblical teachings, I think if encouragement for action is present it is encouragement to throw out particular interpretations of Biblical teachings. That put's a different take on things, surely?

Why is that?
Why come here and try to change our religion?.
You think something is wrong with what certain atheists, agnostics and even some Christians are saying. You are frustrated by it. Angered by it, perhaps, and so you express yourself. On a discussion forum. Where discussion is meant to take place. Yet you are annoyed (?) when others adopt the same approach. Odd?

Why dont you go to islamforum and see how far ya get.
Now that's a good idea! Thank you for the suggestion.

To bad, I know more Conservative Christians having abortion.
What you know isn't relevant to the whole picture. I know a black Trump supporter. 90 something percent of black people are not.
