It isn't that I don't care. It is that I consider a symptom of a bigger problem in the usa.I made a thread about this months ago, Stamperben made a thread about it months ago, every few days I could comment on his thread to bump it to the top in hopes of getting more than 4 different people to post in it. Never happened.
This isn't a subject that conservatives can say, LIBRULS BAD! or one that liberals can say, CONSERVATIVES R EVUL! so it looks like the majority of them don't care. A lot of the same people who gripe about Citizens United are quiet about a treaty that give a terrifying amount of power to corporations. On the other side of the aisle many of the folks who will sit and tell you all about how the us needs to protects it's sovereign powers are completely silent about a treaty that gives foreign corporations the power to influence the United States to pretty bad levels.
This is NAFTA on crack.
Sadden to hear that others noted the issue and others seemed too fearful to speak on it. But it needs to be addressed. For what we're dealing with is essentially a matter of addressing Corporatism at its finest - and the revelation that it has NEVER been about conservative vs. liberal since that's a well played act (and both sides are on the same coin) but about who has the money....I made a thread about this months ago, Stamperben made a thread about it months ago, every few days I could comment on his thread to bump it to the top in hopes of getting more than 4 different people to post in it. Not certain where your thread or stamperben's is - but by all means, whatever you guys discussed there, point me to it or bring it here. The issue NEEDS to be discussed regardless...I made a thread about this months ago, Stamperben made a thread about it months ago, every few days I could comment on his thread to bump it to the top in hopes of getting more than 4 different people to post in it. It truly is NAFTA on crack..I made a thread about this months ago, Stamperben made a thread about it months ago, every few days I could comment on his thread to bump it to the top in hopes of getting more than 4 different people to post in it. Never happened.

Very astute but sobering observation and something I've been keeping in the back of my mind. And while there's a commitment to only discussing things if it makes another side look bad, this is happening:I don't believe it's a case of people being too fearful, it's a case of just not being interested because the only reason some people (I'm afraid it's a large group of those interested in politics) are interested in politics is because of partisanship.
If you post a thread where it can be easily show that both parties are to blame for the situation people will ignore it.
I have a theory that if you make a post about an issue and show how it's bipartisan and then make another thread about the same issue but slant it either against liberals or conservatives by the time your first thread has hit page 2 (and that's a huge hope) your second thread is on it's 20+ page.
A lot of people view politics as a sport, they'll respond to an issue because, "wow that other team sucks look what they did!" they will also ignore an issue if it can be shown that both "teams" are responsible.
Well unless it's a positive news story then the subject goes from both "teams" worked together for the greater good and turns into... MY TEAM DID THIS AND THIS AND THIS AND YOUR TEAM ONLY DID THIS!
Many thanks for sharing these resources as they add a lot into awareness of where things have been discussed and others have been willing to deal with the issue.First I need to apologize for being wrong, I didn't make a thread, I had heard something mentioned about the subject and just how horrible bad it was and was mulling over making a thread when Stamperben made one.

I really do like the new forums search function, even when it proves me wrong!

The secrecy has very much been by design.I'm worried sick about this tpp thing since I found out about it on your post. It blows my mind that so much of it has been kept a secret.
The secrecy has very much been by design.
I heard of an incident where Rand Paul wanted to take a look at the legislation, they wouldn't allow any staffers in with him.
He wanted to take notes. "Sure they said, but you can't take them with you."
No treaty good for the nation would need this level of secrecy.
You still have the opportunity to alert your local state representatives and inform others on the need to be aware of what's coming down the pike if things are not addressed - or informing others on just how different life will be when things get done, especially for others below 30 yrs old....I'm worried sick about this tpp thing since I found out about it on your post. It blows my mind that so much of it has been kept a secret.
From Representative Press ☞No treaty good for the nation would need this level of secrecy.
As someone from Black/West Indian culture, the TTP is DEFINITELY something I do not favor and it's something I do hope is taken a lot more seriously by people willing to study on the matter.....as MLK would have been strictly against it in light of what he felt with economic abuses happening....as the dealI'm worried sick about this tpp thing since I found out about it on your post. It blows my mind that so much of it has been kept a secret.
