I think people respect honesty above most other things in politics, and someone that says occasionally offensive things comes across as more honest. I think that's why Trump is popular, he is perceived as honest, plus with his TV show I think people feel like they know him well.

Honestly if Arnold could do an ok job then I dont think Trump will cause the world to end. And anyone is better than Palin.

If we give him a chance, he just might prove you wrong.

Donald Trump got some sistas behind him now. The best thing about it is they'll shut down male and female feminists. Hard to win an argument against a black woman. Well... not "black" in terms of the whole black world outside of the USA, or even in all the black USA (e.g., Somalians, Nigerians etc.), but rather the ethnic Black-American USA.

The two sistas are backing Ben Carson too. So, now what the male and female feminist going to do in their outrage and disdain for the Trump? Go back on TV and blame me and other black men while simultaneously pontificating about how smart, holy, and only college educated black women are?

Not suggesting these two women aren't smart or don't have college degrees (not that a college degree makes you smart). They do appear to be pretty intelligent women. Intelligent and down to earth. A good combination. Albeit, I don't really agree with them on Donald Trump. And unlike them I don't think he's "tough." Maybe he is in business. Maybe. But I'm betting their are plenty of garbage men, male day laborers, eh... even male ice skaters tougher than Trump. And I don't mean in terms of fist and physical fighting. I mean in terms of mental, physical endurance and "heart."

Americans like to talk trash about Putin. Especially because he is a short man and Russian stoic (he's an accomplished martial artist, grew up in abject poverty, and not only survived but thrived under tough, communist KGB Russia). But I don't think Donald Trump is a 10th on Vladamir Putin--politically in cunning and leadership endurance for a whole civilization. Obama is better than Trump in this way I think.

Warning: Profanity Used (the video has gone "viral")

This has a video interview with the ladies too.
https://www.yahoo.com/katiecouric/the-stump-for-trump-girls-join-yahoo-news-live-126685705463.html

Before GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump heads to Iowa this weekend, Yahoo news and finance anchor Bianna Golodryga sat down with two of his most vocal supporters: “Diamond” and “Silk,” better known as the “Stump for Trump” girls. They officially went viral last week with their response to Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly’s questions for Trump at the first Republican debate. That response has more than 1.2 million views on their YouTube channel, The Viewers View.

In their interview with Golodryga, they discussed how Trump could be the voice that the “Black Lives Matter” movement is looking for and revealed who they would like to see as his eventual running mate. They also told Golodryga that they had always supported Democrats in the past, but as soon as they saw Trump on television they knew he was their candidate for 2016.

Do you know anything about George Pataki?

I don't either.

If Donald Trump was not in the race and George Pataki said and did everything that Trump has said and done the Trump supporters would not all be Pataki supporters. The response would probably be so loud that you could hear crickets.

Donald Trump probably has the support he has because of name recognition. Donald Trump immediately rose to the top of the polls probably because of name recognition.

Don't overestimate ignorance, stupidity, "fear", etc. Somebody famous and well-known entered a race against a bunch of unknowns and immediately took the lead. What else did you expect?

My biggest problem with Trump isn't just that he can't distinguish fact from fiction, or that he actually pursued the "birther" conspiracy theory (even though Obama would be a citizen even if he was born in Kenya because his mom was an American citizen--the sort of thing you should learn before you throw money at a highly publicized "investigation"), which he's somehow still undecided about, or that he called the 2012 election a "sham" and demanded a "march on Washington" to reverse it, or that he claims to be some kind of expert military strategist with nothing to back it up ("There's no one bigger or better at the military than I am"), or that he's an egomaniacal jerk: it's that he has absolutely no political experience! People should really mention that more often.

Of course because clearly you must be educated to have the government dictate and run everything :/ Curse those uneducated people for not wanting the government involved in their day-to-day lives.
I actually don't think people who want smaller government are uneducated... but if you don't want the government involved in your day-to-day life, say goodbye to public schools, roads, the criminal justice system, and a lot of other things that are necessary for the private sector to work.

Ronald Reagan was an actor but made a great president (at least to a lot of people) and there was nothing much to suggest he could do more then act.
Reagan had actual political experience. He was the governor of California for eight years.

I agree with Eudaimonist: Trump is a demagogue, he tells people what they want to hear, he gives voice to their fears. He's like Joe McCarthy, not particularly good at rhetoric so he appeals to peoples baser instincts.

The U.S. Constitution does not make "political experience" a requirement for being President. Minimum age and citizenship are the only requirements that I recall.

Nobody was saying he can't be president, just that political experience plays a significant factor for many people in who they choose to vote for. The right complained a lot about how Obama didn't have enough experience, now they are jumping on the bandwagon of a guy with zero experience.

Do you think it says anything bad about Republicans that Donald Trump is top in the polls?

Why do so many people support such an ignorant and narrow-minded guy?
Why do you think he is ignorant and narrow-minded...because you don't agree with him? The same could be said of you by people who oppose your views. He is able to say those things because he has nothing to lose....no political job that goes away with a loss. The other professional politicians have much to lose. Carly and Ben are in the same position...they have careers they can return to so they tend to speak out about things though not as much as Trump. And it is also because he is talking about things that are on peoples minds....not more entitlements like Hilliary, and Bernie; but people and the government taking responsibility for their lives and this country.

It's theater. I came across information that suggested Trump is simply priming the voters for Hillary.

I always thought it was more to make the other Republican candidates look sane (in comparison) to centrist voters. Like Rick Santorum (to pick one) can be "I may be vehemently opposed to rights for homosexuals, and I may want to outlaw abortion 100%, and I may think Creation should be taught in schools, but hey, I'm not as nuts as Trump!"

You think he's there to make Republicans look crazy, to help Hilary?

It's possible, but I doubt it's true.

Why do you think he is ignorant and narrow-minded...because you don't agree with him? The same could be said of you by people who oppose your views.

A scientist might think a geocentrist is ignorant and narrow-minded, and a geocentrist might think a scientist is ignorant and narrow-minded, but that doesn't mean one of them isn't right.

He is able to say those things because he has nothing to lose....no political job that goes away with a loss. The other professional politicians have much to lose. Even if he had something to lose, I don't know if he'd speak much differently. He has lost some deals from what he's said. I suspect he's too narcissistic to consider what others might think.

And you don't find that refreshingly honest to have someone speak plainly and openly, even if you disagree with them, as opposed to someone like Hilliary (or insert whatever name you want) who bobs, weaves, dodges and blocks questions of where he/she really stands on issues in order to pander to the party faithful. I don't think Trump has a snowballs chance of getting the nomination (nor do I want him to) but he has certainly rocked the election boat and I am loving it!
