That's crazy! Just joking.I once read an article that linked tinnitus to dementia.
I join in this prayer for relief and for healing for all of us who suffer, in Jesus name...I have tinnitus but also suffer from severe hearing loss due to genetics and an immune condition. I've been praying about this and will continue to do so until it is done! It started out where it didn't bother me, but as my hearing loss progressed, now I can hear the humming/roaring continuously, especially bad at night. I find that stress worsens mine. Odd to be hearing this sound, as I am deaf to hear normal sounds? As a poster suggested, listening to music may benefit in those who still have some hearing tones left, but it doesn't help if you can't hear the music. Also it is said that white noise may help to mask the tinnitus in some, bio feedback, masking devices, but no known real cure at this time, but we have a God who can do the impossible when we pray and believe!
Heavenly Father, I hold up to You, all those that are bothered with tinnitus and perceived sounds that are not a normal part of our hearing (myself included). Whatever the cause of these phantom noises, may You draw us close to You, and help us to reach out to You and ask You to bring the healing needed for it to stop permanently, so we can rest and live in peace without the bothersome disturbance in our lives, thank You Father, In Jesus Name, Amen
Consider pronouncing it as Tinitus rather than Ti-NIGHT-us. That's the preferred pronunciation anyway.Last SUNDAY NIGHT I was with my wife and two other couples to play some Dominoes. I asked one of them if they knew what tinnitus is. With a straight and honest face they said "Tonight is Sunday night." I thought that was so funny. They had never heard of tinnitus.
In my mid 50's. Had it since high school. I try to ignore it.
Another member of the club nobody wanted to join...
Have had it since early 20s. (Also have severe hearing loss.) Used to really bother me, but I've learned to mostly ignore it even though it has gotten worse. Sometimes it will change tone/pitch/sound and I will be confused for awhile whether it is a "real" sound or just my tinnitus acting up.
Praying for us all.
Good point. I have heard it pronounced both ways, but more with the "Night-us" emphasis.Consider pronouncing it as Tinitus rather than Ti-NIGHT-us. That's the preferred pronunciation anyway.
Me, too. That's why I looked into the matter after I stumbled over it once while I was talking to someone about the condition.Good point. I have heard it pronounced both ways, but more with the "Night-us" emphasis.
