Unbelievable! I don't think a sane person following the case thought she would get a verdict of not guilty. But, human judgement evaded, she will still answer to God one day.

My heart is breaking for that little girl.

That's unbelievable! Surely they think SOMEBODY did it. If she's not guilty, who is?

IDK - I guess one of the many family members/imaginary friends that her attorney blamed. :sigh: It is sickening. Absolutely sickening - that she got off.

And to manage it with such a JOKE for an attorney at that. Ugh!

I have officially lost the very last bit of faith in our justice system.......wow....how terrible. And the jurors just go on about their business and later write "tell all" books about their experience.

She is guilty of four misdeameanors... could get up to a year sentence for each one... and she has already been in jail for 3 years... so she will probably get a year's probation... if that. Apparently there was enough "reasonable doubt" for the jurors to come back with a not guilty.

I just wonder if there is a better way of selecting jurors. The way it is now....I think they are mostly concerned with getting on with their own life as quickly as possible, instead of being concerned with properly discerning the case before them.

I think there was just too much confusion at the end of the day. After three years of mass media coverage, and after this case has been talked and talked and talked about, by every talking head in America, there simply was not the evidence that would lead to a guilty verdict. There was a smell in the car, no there was not a smell in the car. The duct tape was put on before the death, no after the death. There was just too much doubt, and not enough any real evidence.

I don't know whether Casey was guilty. I don't think that anyone really knows. I think she will find it hard to get on with her life, because people hate her so much and believe so strongly in her guilt.

I believe that the laws have to change so far as media coverage is concerned. I am so tired of the media trying and convicting the accused before they ever get near a courtroom. It makes a travesty of the actual trial. I also think that a lot of people need to sort themselves out and stop watching every moment of these trials, reading every press clipping and feeling like they personally know these people and have an inside track on who did what. I did see briefly some film of women attacking Casey's father after he was accused in court of abusing her. Those women need to get a life. I thought that was appalling. It's like the insanity of the lynch mob. Ugh.

Only God knows. That's who the real killer will have to deal with.

How totally sad, and totally bizarre! Did anyone on the jury think it was odd that someone would cover up an accident that their child had? Did they think it was odd that the grandparents were suspicions? I mean, even if you toss out all of the evidence, how do you get past those things? How could a parent kill their own child? I know it happens, but I just don't get it.

This is the nation that let OJ go free. Sadly, I'm not surprised at this verdict. My brother is about to graduate with a Crim degree in Orlando (where this all went down) and he's been watching the court video feeds...the whole works.

I didn't even follow the case after it started becoming big because I knew it was just going to be a big circus. And it was. I saw a local news article yesterday about a two year old girl who died in a fire. Her mom was already in jail and the rest of the family in the house somehow managed to escape but no one thought to grab her first. I'm sad every time I hear a story about a mother whose being irresponsible leads to the ultimate death of their child.

Now that I'm a father, I'm horrified every time I hear something like this. I can't imagine how a parent could let things slide so far out of control. But it happens all the time. I have hope that one day some us will wake up and realize children are our greatest blessing and treat them accordingly.

RE: the last paragraph, ITA!

Also, I can't even begin to fathom the behavior that Casey exhibited in the days/weeks following Caylee's allegedly "accidental" death. I would have convicted her on the "Zanny the nanny" information alone. The rest of it is just too horrific to even ponder for more than a minute.

Of course, this is why I would suck wastewater at being on a jury in a case like this - objectivity would fly out the window during jury selection for me. :sorry:
