DAY 361

Isaiah 53 through 55
Psalms 65
Revelation 18

I have always heard that premillennial dispensationalism argues that a lot of the prophecy books - especially Isaiah - will make occasional references to the "End Times" of Revelation, so they can say that even OT prophets before John of Patmos in Revelation were getting revelations from the Lord that one day in the future a Rapture and Tribulation period was going to happen, just before the end of days and eternity begins. I can't say I really agree with it myself, as it just seems to involve a fundamentally wrong way of reading Scripture, taking literally certain parts of Revelation and symbolically others (that's just my opinion). But it might be the reason that the book of Isaiah and Revelation have been entwined together in our reading for several days straight with this schedule, which, again, is giving us Scripture every day that it believes has thematic connection.

LAST DAY!

Zephaniah 1 through 3
Psalms 147

__________

One of the best passages for me to have read this entire readthrough over the last two years was found in today's portion, of all times, at the end, with Psalms 147:10 and 11 ->

10 He delights not in the strength of the horse,
nor does He take pleasure in the legs of a man,
11
but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him,
in those who hope in His mercy.

^-^

Indeed, that is all I can hope for in life. It is clear from the context that to fear the Lord here means to revere, to place all of your trust in. It is not at all a loathing kind of fear like a miserable servant/slave would have of a tyrant ruler.

Yep, all true
And he's saying he doesn't judge the world based on what the world wants you to judge it on. But if you are in him

So you're done? Good. You're so dedicated to this. What's next for you in your studies?

Thanks for that but i myself am not so sure of my dedication.

And honestly ... next I want to investigate further what the meaning of Revelation is. The literal Rapture and Tribulation view just seems too sketchy to me, and the awful Left Behind books certainly do not help its case. I need to dig up that Steve Gregg book Revelation: Four Views book that I've recommended on here a few times over the years, and read it more carefully this time.

You seem dedicated to me!

I don’t really understand the different Revelation theories myself. Words like 'pre-mil' & 'Tribulation'. I only know the ending: the world will be judged & Jesus will reign with a new creation with his people. Every time I want to read book on the different Revelation theories, my teachers advise me to work / learn more on application, especially if I want to be married. The're not wrong, they're very helpful
