I don't have a problem with it. I guess it's because I've seen different terms used in my readings on the subject so I might be a little immuned to it. I dunno.

Cute dress Lamb. Reminds me of the parabloe with the ten virgins waiting for the bride groom. Not that I know what their dresses looked like, but I'm sure they were special. :)

I'm not picking on you Porter, just using your post as a starting place. I just don't like the terminology if calling our Lord's body and blood host and other terms like that. Is it just me or does anyone else feel that way?

I called it the host when I was a Catholic.

Must be Martin passed down that terminology Heh? ;) I think I need to watch the Luther move again pretty soon. We bought a copy 2 years ago and I know we have watched it at least 15 times already. Good flick  I wished I could Catholics to watch it :)

My goodness- I went to wedding there about 15 years ago and it was this small mission church. At least that's what I remember.

Except for St.Johns Ellisville I didn't know there was any Lutheran churches that big. I was just amazed when I saw the congregation count.

Hope it wasn't me that grilled you. If I did I apologize.

By the time I started going, they were at two services in the multipurpose building. Children's Celebration was held in the sanctuary.

I think there's another big one in Eureka. Peace is getting up there, along with Christ Memorial (in the old Target building by Ronnie's) and Webster Gardens. The pastor at Webster Gardens' son was my husband's college roommate.

I've talked about how big the congregation was before. I guess it just now sank in with everyone.

It wasn't you.

:tutu: Glad you like it :) It shows a bit too much skin for me for real life, but my character seems to hold it together pretty well LOL

I've gotten a couple of PM's asking what church I go to. One of them felt more like an interrogation than an inquiry. Sheesh!

Does no one check profiles? It's there. I checked the site address (because I think they are changing it) and it still works. Just click my profile and scroll down.

To answer one that didn't feel like an interrogation (because I got an e-mail, but it's not showing up on my PM list), I don't go to Peace, though I do live closer to it than the one I go to, and I've thought about checking it out. I believe member count at my church is closer to 3000, but I am not for sure. I remember hearing 2000 when I first started going 10 years ago, and it's grown a lot since then. 500 a service is just a guess - actually I think the numbers are less in the earlier service and more in the later ones.

Why do any of you care?

I simply typed a simple question. I guess your paranoia took it as "an interrogation." I don't know.

I am just interested in the growth and plant that your church is doing. I didn't think asking in a PM was out of line since it wasn't public in case you didn't want it to be public. Very few people put the name of their church or their location in their profiles, so I don't normally look there for such information.

But don't worry, Flipper. I'll never ask... or sould I say "interrogate"... you for anything again.

I generally prefer the terms "body of Christ" and "blood of Christ", although I will sometimes simply mention "common cup" in reference to the blood of Christ, especially in contrast to "shot glasses".

You and others are so quick to criticize what other churches do, and I've posted plenty of what my church does that I know you don't agree with. How was I to know that you weren't wanting to know for that reason?

Also, I'm used to my PMs starting with a "Hey, Flipper, how are you? Just wondering..." or something like that instead of a "What church do you go to and where is it." I guess I'm spoiled.

I've never gotten such a direct question like that before. From now on, I'll keep my "taken aback" response to myself.

LOL - there's no way I would wear my dress in real life either.
Also the link you provided for your church doesn't work. At least it didn't work when I used it. I just copied/paste it in the address bar on IE.

Well my friends from England will arrive tomorrow and stay at the cabin a few days then we will take off for the "midwest flavor" tour. I actually met these people on CF about 2 years ago and we have been friends since then. They were also here last year. We are tentatively planing a trip to Cape Town South Africa in the wintertime. The climate is opposite of here since it is south of the equator so hopefully it will be nice "down there".

Yea, believe it or not, I actually have friends :)

Oh I think we should all break out and sing that always popular Michael W. Smith song now.

Well a friend's a friend forever if the Lord's a Lord of them and a Friend will not say never because the welcome will not end. . .
