Some of us are online all day for work anyway so it's easy to pop in and see what's going on. Of course, in my case, it might have a wee bit to do with some ordained guy with dimples who frequents this spot as well.

Oh, really? Is he bigger than me?

Angel, one might suspect you of insuating that those of us who spend a lot of time here, need to get a life. AND IT'S TRUE! Just kidding.;)

This forum, actually, has been a Godsend for me. It has been getting me back into my Bible more than I've been for some time. So my sincere thanks to everyone here.

I had the neatest thing happen today. I came home for lunch and was doing the dishes when two humming Birds flew up to the window. They kept dodging back and forth in front of the window till I leant forward to see what they were up to. Then they flew straight up and out of sight. I turned round to see what the activity at the feeder was and they were circling the empty feeder. Then they went straight up out of sight. I heard a tapping at the window and turned round. There they were again. As soon as I looked at them they flew straight up and over again to the feeder and proceeded to circle it again. It's like they were saying, "Hey, we're hungry and the buffet is empty!" I've never come across such bold and, actually, friendly Humming Birds.

Welcome Hummie! Glad to have you here. CF can be very confusing at times, but you'll get a feel for it if you just hang out here long enough.

Something that helped me a LOT when I joined was to go to my Control Panel at the top of the page, and go to Edit Options. About three screens down you'll see some options to add titles and URLs for the "Custom Navbar". As you find forums on CF that you want to participate in, put their URL as one of your custom navbar URLs. That way, it will show up on the top of your screen each time you visit, and will act as a quick shortcut to the forums you visit the most.

Look forward to getting to know you as you post

SC, if the shoe fits, wear it!

Seriously, This place has given me fellowship with other Christians who happen to be Lutheran. I live in a small rural area where my wonderful husband happens to be a Pastor. Those who live in low populated areas know what I mean. Now as a PW, it is not easy to have a place to go to where I am "me." I have been able to do that here. I don't hear how horrible Pastor so and so is, or why doesn't Pastor so an so do this or why does he. I don't have to listen to people wonder about my "weird" kids. They aren't weird, just chose not to participate in sports and they love to travel and experience many things.

Hi Hummie! Welcome to the forums! It really is a great place for a "n00b" since I'm sort of one myself.

Studeclunker, I love Hummers too. My Mom has little males that will follow her around if she's outside and the feeder is empty. They also will go from window to window looking for her...they know the difference between her and my Dad and will keep looking for her even if Dad fills the feeder.

Thanks for all the welcomes and all the tips. I will have to try that navbar if I can. It seems these pages take a long time to load and I have a fast connection. I'm spoiled I guess and not used to waiting, oh, 2 seconds! lol

I love birds too, but grew wearing of attracting hummingbirds. In our area, the come twice a year for about two weeks and it does not seem worth the work to keep up the feeders for such a short time.

My internet nickname is in honor of my grandparents and the meaning can be found on my website on the "about me" tab. ..if anyone is interested. It's at hummiesworld dot com (I guess I don't have enough posts to be able to post links yet...this is very frustrating for a newbie to always be stopped when posting.

Well, I tried the navbar twice with two different links and I'm not seeing anything different.

I tried editing what is allowed to be seen for each page and that does not change the load time per page either.

I'm fairly computer savvy, but this place is frustrating.

Everyone have a nice Easter weekend!

The needing so many posts before you can post links is to make sure that a member signs up to participate, not to post SPAM. Those people pop up all over the place.

I can't remember how many you need, but shoulden't be too many more.
