  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is my favorite Hymn....but I have many favs!

I almost caused a scandal in church today at the Easter breakfast.:eek: I was holding our Pastor's baby, when a little old lady came up to me and said she couldn't wait to say hi to the Pastor's wife this morning!
I said, I'm not the Pastor's wife...I'm just holding the baby for them. She said Oh, my goodness, my eyesight is so bad...I thought you looked just like her! (she's 28, and I'm 44!). I love old people! :)
Pastor came along about right then, and said....That's all I need is for folks to think I have 2 wives! :D

Ok hubby and son went to church with me this morning, after the service when we were walking to the car, hubby said he forgot something at the end of the service. I asked him what. He said he forgot the invitation. I'm like what? He goes you know the invitation. Then it hit me that he grew up in the Baptist church and I go oh you mean the altar call. He goes yeah the altar call, they forgot to start playing and singing Just As I Am and the altar call. I'm like ugh... :help: I think he tries to see if he could get me riled up or something.

I could see that my mother enjoyed it and everyone made them feel so welcome, like a homecoming. It couldn't have been much better. :clap:
They used to be so vital to the congregation when I was young. It's a shame that personalities and egos can be allowed to become so destructive to so many others as well as ourselves.
