I need to put this on the calendar.
In the next 5 or so years, we plan to build a house in the country near where my husband grew up. I had always figured once we get out there, he would push for us to go to the Methodist church he grew up in since his whole family goes there. I had my issues about it but I was going to wait until we knew for sure where we would be building before I said anything. Why start an argument if we won't even end up out there, right?
Just yesterday, out of the blue, he suggested that when we move out there, we try the "Lutheran church in Union" or maybe the one further out on Lutheran Church Road - both LCMS. I asked him why, and he said it doesn't seem like we'd be a good fit at the Methodist church because it just didn't seem like it was growing and we would be looked upon more as financial contributors than valued members. However, he's always hearing of the different Lutheran churches doing more, and the people going there really seem to be getting something out of it.There are other UMC churches out there too, but he suggested looking at the LCMS churches first.
So, I then asked him if that was so important, why doesn't he seem to want to get involved more with our own church now, and he said he just doesn't feel right because of the types of committments they want out of you (which he has a point - volunteering to do sound, which would be his forte, would mean getting to church at 6:30 in the morning, and not leaving until after 12:00, just about every other Sunday and he already has to work every other Sunday).
So, I think he really is paying attention. He never ceases to amaze me.![]()

Has he ever been?
Tell him its Catholic-lite. Everytime I hear that, sounds like a beer commercial.

I got one that won't go to church though he's been with me a few times. Don't know how to get him there and don't want to pressure him..Yes, he's been to my church a few times. He's my sister's children's godfather even![]()
It's just that he won't leave the RC church...and I get tired of being a split family.
