Quite a while. Luther had very little patience with it. In fact, this is one of the main reasons he didn't want to attend the Marburg conferrence. However, Melangthon convinced him to go. Both Zwinglii and the AnaBaptists adhered to this doctrine. In fact, Luther had so little patience with the AnaBaptists, if I remember right, he kept telling them to shut up. He didn't even want to hear from them and insisted on directing all of his dialog to Zwinglii. Course, it's been well over ten years since I read that book, so I may have my facts muddled. Still, I do remember clearly that this decision doctrine reportedly thoroughly annoyed Luther.

I'd love to be able to get away with those 'left behind' shorts. Unfortuneately, they'd deeply offend a very close friend. Ah, well. Musn't injure the conscience of the weaker bretheran...

true, i was born again in baptism, but i am not going to go to their terms (which really make no sense)

I always have fun with it. I remember one post in the Charismatic forum where they were talking about a poll. Some percentage of people who self-identified as "born again" also did/believed something else (I don't remember the details).

Anyway, my comment was that I would need to look at how the poll asked the question, because the term "born again" can be political as well as biblical. And that there was a whole raft of Christians who consider themselves "born again" according to the Bible, who believe that their second birth came from God's grace through their baptism... when they were infants. Sometimes they self-identify as "born again" on polls like this (I do). Sometimes they don't.

Hi all! Well, I'll be leaving soon to get my cortizone shot in the hip. This time a specialist is handling it...and I pray things go better than my last doctor's appt.
Of course, I've only had pain in my left hip since last august...so I can see why they are waiting to find out if it gets better on it's own!
