We had snow christmas day and had snow like a week before that like 4 or to 6 inches both times, and then this snow coming in, its been kind of unusual weather, I think it got up into the 50's here today too.

Well I'm spending more time on FaceBook than I ever expected to. My youngest daughter put me in touch with her three sibs and everything has gone from there. There's been a few bumps, but things are sailing along nicely now. I uploaded forty pictures of their mother and them too last night. They've been having a wonderful time viewing the pics. At least that's what it seems like from the comments. It's so good to hear from them after all this time.:)
It's so strange... I posted a pic of their mother today when she was twenty-five. Laura, the youngest daughter, commented how young her mother looked. LOL, well Robin was four years younger, than Laura is now, at the time.;)

My wife Robin, at twenty-five, about eight months or so after I met her. Her youngest daughter was asleep in the tackroom to the left of the picture. She was three months old at the time.

That youngest daughter today at twenty-nine. Oh yes, the fellow with her is Laura's Fiance. She's crazy about him and oddly, refuses to marry him. Go figure.

Praying for your family, Stude.

Oh my - it's so cold in Minnesota. I'm sitting in the hotel room, drinking yucky coffee. Anyone have something better for the kitchen this morning?

This afternoon is our Christmas party for hubby's side of the family....then it's hubby's 50th birthday party for tonight. We have been together since he was 16. Wow - time has sure flown by. I've been so blessed with him for my man.

Gosh, Seajoy, I thought my family was bad. One has twelve days for Christmas and your family still missed it by two days!;):p:p As my youngest daughter would say though, "Party on baby!"

Happy, happy, to hubbie!

Thank you Sis, but please make those prayers of thanksgiving. Several of mine have been answered. Even my eldest daughter, who has avoided me now for over five years, is (albeit reluctantly) talking to me! So things are looking up. I recieved a confirmation of a prayer I've been saying for fifteen years, my eldest son has returned to the Lord. He has his moments... don't we all, and I'm very happy the Lord said 'yes'. Now for the agnostic youngest daughter, and the angry youngest son...:crossrc::prayer:

stude - i'm sorry there is so much apparent strife in your family....i'm praising God that your eldest has returned to the Flock, and i'm praying that the rest of your children return as well....healing of family is done baby steps at a time, trust me, i know this all too well....

i loved that pic you posted of your wife - what a beautiful lady....

not to completely switch gears, but i have a question: how or where does everybody get those neat avatar things - seajoy has one, DaRev has one, a bunch of others too (i think matt bizkit has one too) - those are so neat, i wouldn't mind having one too....how do i do that?

Are you talking about the Avatar Dollies or the accessories? They're all available in your User CP function. You can choose to have a picture, like the wonderful one you currently have, or the Avatar Dollie, like DaRev, Seajoy and many others. I used to have one too, but decided to put Nana there instead.;)

Praise for the healing and progress of your family, Stude. We just never know what God has planned for us, right? :)

Glad everyone seems to be doing well and somewhat better with all the crud going around. We made it home and after sleeping for more hours than being awake, I feel somewhat normal again.

I'm pretty sure I had a cold after being in the heat and humidity of west Texas, but my hubby got the worst of it, managing to develop an ear infection. Of course, like most men, he refused to accept that something more serious than a cold might bothering him and was reluctant to call the doctor until I threatened to bring in the big guns, being our more determined, mature female neighbors who have known him for more than three decades. He was at the doc two hours later and is now feeling and behaving better. Thank God, because I was about to throttle him!

I think he's amused and grateful, but also mystified by the fact that it was so obvious to me he had some kind of infection. I keep telling him it's a mom thing and rarely wrong. :p

Prayers for all those of you still not 100%. Did you all have flu shots? We did, but I'm still a bit surprised at how bad the allergen levels in my home town. Believe it or not, I am very happy to be back in Britain and I truly, honestly missed what we are making into our family home here. We are blessed and sometimes it's hard to comprehend until seen from the outside looking in.

:) I think 2011 will be full of surprises. Let's pray they're mostly good ones.

In the UserCP page there's a list of links on the elft side of the page. One is called "edit Avatar". When you click on that you can then click on "Living Avatars" to create one. However, there is a database problem with the living avatar page right now, so access to it isn't possible.

yep - putzied around in "user CP" and found the "living avatars" thing....clicked on it, to find it isn't working....oh well!! at least i know now where to go if it ever gets fixed, LOL....

i agree with this....people don't realize how good they have it, or how blessed they are, til it's gone, or until you come back to it.....i have learned, i don't take anything for granted, and i am so grateful, so blessed, for the things i have, but most importantly, for the people that are in my life....

Stude, that is great that you and your kids are communicating again! That has to be such a wonderful gift. God knows what we need when we need it. You have wanted this for a long time and now you are blessed to have your family talking again. I can tell how happy you are reading your post.

Seajoy, Brrr, I have that to go back to on Wednesday!

alexnbethmom, sounds like things are going wonderful for you. You sound so happy.

I am taking a lay day today. I think we are going to visit the Lexington and do some geocaching. Yesterday was San Antonio, Riverwalk Alamo and shopping!

Oh, my sis and I are getting along well. I am so glad of that. We have avoided the two topics that cause trouble, but that is very okay with me. I am glad I went ahead and made this trip when my husband had to change plans.

Well, sometimes one should be careful what they ask for. I am in contact with all four of my children. However, it isn't going well. First of all, I committed a gaff with one of the cousins and everything snowballed from there. Also, I didn't know that when one posts a message to the other person's wall, it is seen by the entire universe on FaceBook. I sure do now.:o:sorry: Anyway, I've been eating crow since Saturday night and the feathers are getting old. Also, my eldest is a lot angrier than I had ever suspected. A lot of what she is demanding answers to is difficult to deal with and I'm getting rather overwhelmed.

Thus, I could use the prayers of a few friends on this. The whole situation could be an excellent way to heal emotional wounds that have been festering for twenty years. It could also get really bad really quickly. So, I really really need the Holy Spirit's guidance and support here.

Whenever two or more of you are gathered together in my name...:crossrc::prayer:

Today was our associate pastor's last Sunday with us. He accepted a call to another church about five hours away. I'm happy for him, but sad to see him go. He is my only close friend here.
