Enjoy your trip Seajoy. A little summer in the middle of winter will really shorten the winter.

Well, am flying to Texas on Wednesday and returning the next Wednesday. Hubby and I were going to drive, but he has a funeral on Wednesday and I have to be back on the 12th. The timing and such being a problem, yet I know it is important for him to officiate at this funeral and shortening the trip to less than a week makes no sense either with the travel time involved. So, I am going to go ahead and go. I will be seeing my sister. I really hope and pray it goes well. We don't see eye to eye on many things, yet she is my sister and it is way too easy to go your separate ways when neither of your parents are living.

I am also looking forward to 8 days of no winter.

I know exactly what you mean, QA. Here in west Texas, it's almost too warm and dry and our allergy issues have been less than enjoyable, but it's been nice to be in something other than bitter cold and wet.

Enjoy your trip and the sunshine. Hopefully, your sister will be better behaved than mine has been. :sorry:

Sorry to hear your trip has been somewhat less than perfect, Porter. Family, how could we live without them?

Seajoy, don't forget an inflatible life raft and life-preservers whilst visiting down under. I understand it's a wee bit wet around Brisbane.;) Do take care.

Angel, I hope all goes plesantly for you. May the Texas-style winter be refreshing and your family gracious.

Still got the crud, I'm thinking of going back to the dr., this antibiotic he gave me is about to kill me I think, its a sulfa drug and its been rough on me, thinking about going back and see if he can give me something different.

I got a booth at a flea market, I just got to keep it stocked and they take care of taking the money. Been doing it for a year now, ended up getting another booth and going to split it with my mother, don't know how that is going to work out. I hope she doesn't drive me nuts. I love my mother but she can be, I don't know how to put it. Maybe bossy or something. Growing up she left everything up to my father when it came to punishment if we got in trouble, now its reversed and I'm not doing anything to get in trouble, its little nit pick stuff. So I don't know how its going to work out.

I'm going to the doctor today. My ears are still plugged up. Now when I blow my nose it hurts all over my face. My jaw hurts now too. UGG.

Ugh is right. Mine still hasn't totally cleared out. Going to be interesting tomorrow how it will feel after my flights. I need to get some sudafed, but the way they treat sudafed in this state, I will wait until I get to my destination.

I got Z-pack from the doctor. This is some nasty stuff going around. My cousin got it twice and he's on Z-pack too (only thing that kicked it apparently). I'm really hoping my hubby doesn't get it but chances are he's going to.

wow - i sure hope and pray that everybody that is ill gets better really quick!! i hate being sick, it's just so miserable...

my trip back home got delayed, considerably.....had to take my dad to the hospital this morning for day surgery - he had skin cancer inside his ear, and he basically had most of his ear removed this morning....the positive thing is, the doctor said if you're going to get cancer, THIS is the kind to get, it's easily treated, and it won't kill him....the doctor said that he got it all, and he didn't have to touch his ear drum, so his hearing will be fine....they had given my dad the option to get his ear reconstructed at a later date, but my dad, being the strange man that he is, LOL, said "no, i'm gonna leave it as is - i'm having way too much fun thinking up all kinds of bizarre things i can tell people when they ask what happened to my ear (i.e., a bear attacked him in the parking lot, etc, LOL)" by the time he got done, and through recovery, and got him home, and i got back to my sister's, it was already almost 1pm - way too late to start the trip back home....

so - i will be leaving to drive back to colorado tomorrow morning, about 6AM - i'm hoping this will put us home between 6-9PM - i can't WAIT to get home....it's been a long, weird, tiring trip.....but wonderful.

prayers for our safe travels are very much appreciated....thanks!!

these 2 weeks have been eye-opening on so many levels - i know i keep saying this, but i honestly don't know how i could possibly be any happier than i am right now....one just doesn't know, when someone comes into your life, how that person will affect and impact your life - and i can honestly say, that my life has been impacted so wonderfully, so beautifully, that i hardly know what to do with myself....God truly works in mysterious, wonderful ways.....

have a Blessed wednesday, everybody.....

I'm glad your dad is doing okay! My Physics teacher in high school had skin cancer on his ear too and showed us before reconstructive surgery what it looked like. It really helped to persuade me to begin using sun block that year! They used cartilage from his knee to help rebuild the ear.

Get well soon! Are you allergic to sulfa drugs? I know I am, so be careful!

Yeesh! It sounds like the crud is pretty bad right now. I sure hope Mike doesn't bring it home to me!! I get EVERYTHING! *sigh*

I have overcome my odontophobia! I just had my first dental cleaning in well over a decade. It feels so GOOD to be nice and clean again! LOL Not that I wasn't before...I brush regularly and my dentist said he's impressed with how little plaque had built up!

I should be working on my SS lesson for next week. This Sunday we're having Youth Group during the SS hour. I'm NOT a fan of this new schedule of 3 weeks teaching and a week of YG. BUT I know it's a way to get the kids involved in YG and also help out those who live 45 minutes to an hour away.
