  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sleep?
It's just as much an escape.
It costs nothing
You wake up the next morning feeling refreshed, without risk of a hangover.
You dont trip and break stuff (unless you're a sleep walker)
You pee less.

Until someone has documentation that God personally instructed them on the minutiae of their bunker, the scenarios cannot be compared.

Truthfully, there was no documentation of what Noah did, at the time Noah did it. The books recounting the Flood were written quite a long time after Noah had died. So, my example stands.

So do I, but the easiest way to avoid them, is to avoid what can cause them.

But, I'm assuming we all believe that Moses was inspired of God when he wrote the book of Genesis. So, that account of Noah and God's instructions is accurate down to the minutest detail. It doesn't matter that Genesis was written after the fact.

I am not arguing for or against building bunkers or being a survivalist. Personally I don't care either way and I don't condemn a person for wanting to protect themselves or their family. I do think though that there is a very big difference between God's command to Noah to build the ark and a person deciding to build their own bunker.

I believe the entire Bible is inspired of God. But I also know that most of the Bible wasn't actually written down until the Babylonian captivity.

Wouldn't you want to live a real-life Fallout game?
Nah. Exceptions can be made for storming into slaver camps in powered armor and killing all the slavers. And for following a gigantic combat robot that calls its targets commies.

Those americans! Apparently...they decided not to bomb Kyoto cos it was too pretty. They bombed Nagasaki instead.
Pretty sure they bombed it because it was a military base. Kyoto was more civilian centric and America at least had some conscience to not do that: though the radius of the atomic bomb was still enough to cause severe issues even to this day for some survivors, though I seem to remember most are probably dead.

I don't know anything about it other than its title, Mary Consoles Eve. It's one of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen.
It really is. I was moved after looking at it for a bit and studying the figures painted there, and realising who they were (I didn't know the title, and I have never seen the picture before).

Glad someone else noted that the speed of a nuclear blast wouldn't allow you 5 minutes...it'd barely allow you half a minute, probably, if it was a few miles from your house. You'd be trying to get away and still get killed, let alone call your parents or such or even get to the shelter. The scenario is just poorly written *shakes head in disapproval*

Wait... So then you believe it was all oral tradition until the Babylonian captivity?

Does this bunker need to fit all the animals in it like Noahs Ark?
Or is it just for yourself?
Why did God tell you to make one, and not me? How can you be sure the end of the world is going to be a nuclear explosion? Im asking this seriously.

Also, why would a president feel the need to bomb people in his OWN country???

Some scripture would be good. God sent the 10 plagues, Im not sure about this nucelar explosion scenario, even though hell is going to be opened at the end of 1000 years in revelation, not sure if thats an effect of nuclear bomb though.

It's just a theoretical scenario; it's a game.

It's also really interesting to look at the differences of radiation in the culture of the Japanese and Americans. In Japanese culture, radiation is responsible for monsters. In America, it's causes super heroes. I firmly believe the worst invention of mankind is atomic weapons.

Jeez you're worse than a grammar Nazi. I'm not writing a novel here. It's just a fun thread. Rather, it's supposed to be fun.
