When God defines HIS commandments, it doesn't change later in Scripture because they belong to Him. Its God's Testimony, man is not greater than God. God does not need our help in defining or re-defining what He said plainly is His.

Since God didn't reveal this, I would be less worried about what God is doing right now, because we are not God, and more concerned what God asks of us. That's me though.

Well - He does invite sharing with Him in His Sabbath Rest. This would seem to indicate He is still resting.

His rest is free of sin and rebellion so one would Also be ceasing from their works as God did Heb4:10 on the seventh day Heb4:4 Exo20:11 or in other words those who have entered His rest would be keeping the 4th commandment. Yes, the Sabbath rest remains for the people of God, the Sabbath rest is according to the commandment Luke23:56 why this verse literally translates into keeping the Sabbath that remains for God's people it doesn't say we enter His Sabbath rest. There are two different rests in this entire passage not one. Verse 10 clearly shows these two rests those who has entered His rest has himself ALSO, which means they are doing something in ADDITION and it tells us those who have entered ALSO rest from his works as God did from His, on the seventh day Heb4:4

It doesn't say we enter His Sabbath rest anywhere in this passage, Most of the passage is quoting OT why Joshua David are mentioned and where God spoke of the seventh day in this way etc. Heb4:4 referring to the 4th commandment. Exo20:8-11

Jesus died on Friday, His blood ratified His covenant. It Is Finished, nothing can be added to His covenant without Him sacrificing Himself all over again, but His sacrifice was once and for all Heb10:10 The faithful disciples of Christ who followed Him everywhere, still kept the Sabbath after His death according to the commandment. They were the first people to see Jesus after His rose from the dead, He never told them they no longer needed to keep the Sabbath. He already indicated His people would be keeping the Sabbath long after His death and at His second coming Mat24:20 and forever Isaiah66:23. Not keeping God’s 4th commandment is a man-made idea, not coming from God. Something He did warn us about through Dan7:;25

Still doesn’t say we enter His Sabbath rest, it says clearly there remains, not changed a Sabbath rest for God’s people, and the Greek word in this verse literally means keeping the Sabbath, what God called His people to do Exo20:8-11 Heb4:4. The other rests in this passage that we enter through faith is not the Sabbath and look up every Greek word to see for yourself, it has nothing to do with the Sabbath. One would have to be familiar with the OT to understand this passage as it’s what it references at least three different times. Since it’s mainly what it’s mainly quoting OT. God has always had more than one rest from the beginning and I can show that to you from the book of Exodus. This passage is not saying one rest deletes the other, they work only in tandem.

We still need to get past the two rest clearly mentioned in Verse 10 and why verse 4 is quoting the 4th commandment, which those who have entered into Christ rest, also cease from their works as God did on the seventh day. Heb4:4 why the Sabbath rest remains, not changed for God’s people, because God’s people keep God’s commandments Rev14:12, the way God said, because He is God and we are called to be His faithful servants Isa56:6

Him saying they were innocent is commenting on the act, that they were not guilty of the accusation of the Pharisees because its not a sin to eat on the Sabbath, never was. No need to draw our own conclusions Jesus made is quite clear. Why we are told Pro3:5-6

I'm drawing conclusions based on the text. We can view the innocent remark to modify what the pharaisees said that picking grain is unlawful or we can view it to to modify what Christ said that he has authority to do so. Since Christ makes no direct comments regarding if the act is lawful or not and sticks to remarks regarding authory this would suggest the context of the innocence is because of the authority. I make no claim on if the act is lawful or not, just that the context seems to be regarding authority.

Sabbath being too high of a standard to keep into these verses so therefore we do not have to keep, is a bad idea. The Sabbath can be kept, just like the other 9 if we love Jesus and cooperate with the Spirit. John14:15-18 The Sabbath wasn't mentioned in these verses, money was and Jesus said even rich people can be saved because....you missed the solution in the next verse and it wasn't Jesus lowering His standard or changing one of His commandment's

Money is not the issue, its the love of money that is, when we place it above God.

I didn't say because the law is too high to keep we don't have to keep it. My point is that Jesus has accomplished the law and through him we may receive that same accomplishment thus law is kept (in every aspect) and this is something we cannot do oourselves (nor is it something we can deny)

Keeping Sabbath according to the 4th commandment requires probably a lot more than most are willing to do. For example we get electricity from a labour powered system (same with all utilities) and if our use is nonessential then we are entering into an agreement to exchange money for a nonessential service which is labour powered and is unlawful on the Sabbath.

There is a hamster wheel connected to all these things we utilize day after day, and just because we don't see it doesn't mean it's not there. If all Christians were to go off the grid on the Sabbath it would have a significant impact on the demand which would translate to a reduced workforce for that day. Even if the few won't have an impact the same can be said for any labour force on the Sabbath too and certainly is no reason to ignore it.

This is the same with driving. Simply by using our vehicle on public roadways we become part of a system that require constant road services police/fire/ambulance/tow/etc.... If the driving is nonessential than we are contributing to this demand unlawfully.

No one wants to be that person to actually call out what the Sabbath law is in a modern context but if participation in a system that contributes to a demand of Labour/money exchange for that day and it is nonessential we are fooling ourselves if we think it is lawful according to the 4th.

So who keeps the Sabbath? I doupt the list is very long (I certainly don't based on the standard of the 4th) and it would take unique individuals to do it. This doesn't mean I ignore the Sabbath, it just means that Christ has accomplished the work I am unable to and through him I too can accomplish the work.

Not by letter but by logic the Sabbath points to not just work in the classical sense but our beating hearts and the breath we take too. Christ rested even these things on the Sabbath so we get to participate in the Sabbath on levels that are not possible all through Christ.

Like I said previously I am not big on personal philosophies, I think if we stick with the Bible and what God said and Jesus did as our example and not deviate from that as we are told Isa8:20 we will be just fine.

I can't imagine what it will be like to worship before Christ on the Sabbath. He tells us people will still do things during the week Isa 65:21 They shall build houses and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

As it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

The Sabbath continues for worship but now instead of in spirit, everyone will come before Him.

When you look at every OT reference it speaks of in Hebrews 4 at least 4 times, 4 different passages and read every Greek word, than compare it to what God said out of His mouth, which for me, is what we go by the Master over the servant, one could not come to the conclusion most do who just surface read this passage. It’s not an easy passage to understand because it has so many OT references in a short amount of verses, that sadly many never go to these reference and just apply it to what they want not what it is actually referring to and means. The Bible defines itself, so we do not have to lean on our own understanding. Theres always been more than one rest in Scripture even in the OT, it doesn’t mean it starts deleting God’s commandments, especially ones written by God Himself that He promised He would not alter. It’s God’s Testimony Exo31:18, what the whole bible is about. John5:39 so no Scripture can speak against His Testimony Isa8:20 and it doesn’t if read in context. His word is settled in Heaven Psa119:89 where His Testimony is Rev15:5 Rev 11:19

As far as God is concerned He says His people are a remenant (small remainder of the original) and what those people do

You are stuck in English grammar. Everything reads continuous because it is based on the original writings.The original writing did not contain chapter numbers or even verse numbers. It was written as a scroll. Chapter numbers and verse numbers were added later. lets look at the verses.

It reads the same in the Greek. You might not want to go down this road my friend. The Greek is what led me to share this.

Since God didn't reveal this, I would be less worried about what God is doing right now, because we are not God, and more concerned what God asks of us. That's me though.

He's ruling over all Creation
Psa 103:19 “The LORD has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.”
Dan 4:35 He does according to His will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth.”
Mat 28:1818 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

He's sustaining the Universe
Col 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. 17 All things were created through Him and for Him.
And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

Heb1:3 Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high

He is transforming people through Christ
2 Cor5:19 That is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation

The Holy Spirit Is Dwelling in Believers
1 Cor 3:16 “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
Romans 8:26 “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

Christ is interceding in Heaven as our High Priest

Heb 8:1Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.

Romans 8:34 “Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”
Heb 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them

Judgement is being prepared and final ruling

Which is what I believe we are in right now...

Heb 9:11-12 “But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.
Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.”

Rev 14:6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— 7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”

What is in the Most Holy Place that we are told we will be Judged by, why it sits under His mercy seat? Exo 25:21 God's Testimony Exo31:18

Exo 26:34 You shall put the mercy seat upon the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy.

Rev 15:5 After these things I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened.

Why this is revealed at the Last Trumpet before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ

Rev 11:19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.

The earthy temple was always a miniature of God's heavenly Temple Heb8:1-5

Exo 25:21 You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you. 22 And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.

Which His Testimony is the Ten Commandments

Exo 31:18 And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.

Deut 4:13 So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone

What Law we are Judged by
John 12:48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

Exo 20:1 And God spoke all these words, saying: (Exo20:1-17)

James 2:11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.

We are judged by the perfect law of God, as revealed in His Word, demonstrated in our actions, and made real through faith in Jesus Christ- who alone can declare us righteous.
