History is only the record of the winner. and their take Very often the loser's side is lost.

It's a good thing we have documentation from Jewish sources for this one then.

I think a christian is well advised to take a differentiated approach. On the one hand it is useful to consider the law so as to know what evils to avoid and what good to do. On the other hand, the prescriptions of the law are actually not sufficient. There is good I can do today which is not explicitly defined by the law and does not seem mandatory unless you follow Christ and His spirit. In the same time it is also important to avoid the law as something like a cage - if you think about the law too much you may miss out on the Spirit and consequently become a legalist who kills with his letters (ie emphasizing commandments) without being a mirror of grace. Faithful christians actually exceed the law and do not confuse it with God Himself who is merciful and forgiving. So read the law and learn from it but then don't go about fulfilling law because we are told to fulfill love and follow the spirit of grace. There's just a similarity between law and grace because certain factors in life - adultery, murder, other sins, and the positive commendable things like almsgiving - are considered both by law and grace yet differently. We just shall not abuse grace and use it as a license for sin. And because sin is real with its ugly, harmful reality, we are still adviced to take the law to heart as a wisdom of God in its identifications of things that are good and that are evil.

Froggy, the OT believers had the Holy Spirit. The prophets of God and the patriarchs had the Holy Spirit. Lawkeepers only grieve the Holy Spirit if they are missing the love of Christ in their life. Seeking the Kingdom of God through works grieves the Spirit.

Either you are a lawkeeper or you are a lawbreaker. What continues to be a point of contention here is what law is to be kept.
Then explain Joel 2:28 - 29 which is quoted by Peter on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:17. Grieving the Holy Spirit is a different subject.

You can say I am a lawbreaker all you want. And that would be true if the law had jurisdicrion. But since I am not under the law (Romans and Galatians) I am not breaking the law. I can't possibly break California's speed limit laws in New Mexico, Texas, Nevada, Wyoming. California has no jurisdiction there. Same exact principle.

Now if you want to argue what law(s) is to be kept, we can go there. You keep all or your selected parts of the law of Moses if you like. But as for me, my rule is the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2).

Paul says to throw the law and you throw out grace. I did not say gracewas your fall back. You simply can not do without it. If you need grace you can not keep the law. Other wise you would not need grace. The law does not provide grace.

U dont think that since pent, there was a change?
Did all have the spirit n them prior to that?

Is it a ministry of the spirit,or flesh, trying to do it?

It says by the spirit, put to death the deeds of the body in rom 8;13.Not law,not human effort..

First: I was positive I was referring to Frogster.

Second: I have no idea what Joel has to do with this. The prophecy was talking about the last days. It started at Pentecost and is soon to finish.

Third: Your response has absolutely nothing to do with what I said. Again, it's statements like this that you make that make it hard to carry on a discussion. I don't recall calling you a lawbreaker. You are so quick to get on the defensive and you don't take the time to understand what is being said.
