So you think it is about winning the argument. No wonder your blood pressure is affected. I encourage you to try full grace and forget obligation, which you can not fully comply with. It will always leave you hungry. I used to to do the works thing and it never worked. Grace and liberty are wonderful. No it is not a license to sin Gal 5.

Buddy you can't sin if there is no law:confused:. Did you ever consider also that we do not need Christ. He died for our sins. Which is due the breaking the law. But no law no breaking no sin no need of Christ. Is that not marvelous?

Jesus was under the law of Moses. We are not! Romans 6:14, 15. As the SDA folks say the dead no nothing. The law has nothing to do with a dead man. This is signified in the rite of baptism Also in Roman 6. In Roman 7 the law is a dead husband. We commonly burry them. Gal 4:30 says to throw the law.

Jesus testified that the new covenant (new deal form God) is in force Mat 26:28 This is My blood of the new testament.

So Jesus, who is God was subject to the law but we who are subject to Jesus is above the law?

Wherefore the law [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Romans 7:12
Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; [for] he [is] holy. Ps. 99:5
Tell ye, and bring [them] near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? [who] hath told it from that time? [have] not I the LORD? and [there is] no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; [there is] none beside me. Isa. 45:21
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. 3 John 1:11
Seems like the commandments have something in common with God. What do we say then is the law sin? What is bad about keeping the ten Commandments? Am I a legallist because I do not steal? Wow!!

One of the main problems in churches who do not technically push the law are regularly practicing necrophilia. That is they are in bed with the law while claiming to be married to another (Christ) Rom 7. They unwittingly underhandedly endorse obligation and can only support that with the OC law. They do it in every service. If you were to ask them about this, they would go what? Yep they are also lacking. WOFers are very good at it. I grew up in the church that is largely responsible for this, uh , well stuff. You get my drift? They preach performance (nothing more than works - just different approach) for maintenance of salvation. They are sly for sure.

It is just like you use John 14:15. It really is a demand for obligation to the law - works based salvation. You say I am not saved by works and say I am not saved if I don't have those demanded works. So really it is not love at all on either parties part.

Which church does not do this? I sure would like to know.

I asked God about it and the Holy Spirit immediately responded with "It is not your covenant." Yep that's a quote of the Holy Spirit.

That is part of the reason I am big on Jere 31:31 -33 and Heb 8:8 -13. Since then I found out that my income did not relate to my giving. I have made as much as $5 a minute since then. And that was after some one else skimed the cream of the top. I still give when I am inspired to give. And sometimes in big chunks.

Yes sir I used to be confused and deceived about the works thing. I still sometimes struggle with it.

It is not works it is a demontration of love. Jesus died is that works or love? If you do some thing for Jesus why should it be works? If you love me keep my commandments!!! Who would be correct? you or Jesus?

My guess is that it depends on what you mean by your quote of John 14:15. I respond with John 15:10. If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love. This demonstrates that it is not the ten commandments or the law of Moses which you promote with your misunderstanding or the purposeful twisting of John 14:15 with the intent of deception. Which is is it?

My Commandments and My Father's commandments can not possibly be the same item. My denotes ownership. Who issued the ten commandments? Jesus God the Son or God the Father? I present Exodus 33:20 as evidence that it was and can not be Jesus. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. Your evidence that it was please. We also know that Jesus kept the ten commandments. We know from John 15:10 that My commandments are not the ten commandments if Jesus kept His Father's commandments.

So tell me is it required to prove you love God by keeping the ten commandments? The anti-thesis is that you hate God if you don't. If this is the case you are directly calling me a non Christian and that I hate God. Of course I am using your definition of commandments here.

Nope. Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Wherefore the law [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Romans 7:12
Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; [for] he [is] holy. Ps. 99:5

But you totally ignore the preceeding four verses. here they are: 8But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. 9For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. 11For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

Are you even remotely suggesting that I am anomos? Galatians 5:16 -21. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Why insist on only keeping 10 commandments?
Why will only those 10 stand forever?
Where does it say that those 10 will stand forever but the other 603 don't?
Great work christianmomof3! They pick and choose which one they will keep. And while they are busy saying how they keep them they are violating them every week and wilfully too.

and g'nite folks.

I got news for you, it is not my definition. Prov. 8:36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
What do you think the word of God says here.
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! Deut.5:29

I guess you would like to see your neighbour's 14 year old daughter bought out in front of the whole street and stoned to death because she had sex.

You could bring back slavery, but you would have to buy your slaves from over the boarder to remain within the law.

And when you burn you bull which you have sacrificed be sure you know which way the wind is blowing - you neighbours may not appreciate the stench.

I don't know the going price if you want to sell your daughter into slavery. Maybe you have to contact a broker for this sort of transactions these days.

Oh, if your neighbour insists on working on the Sabbath you know you can legally put him to death. Good luck with that one.

I hope your husband does not trim his hair - you know the penalty - death.

Oh, you do have the milk products in a separate fridge to the meat products.

And you know about not wearing garments made of two different fibers.

Should I mention the laws associated with menstruating females?

Not that I'm trying to get back into this discussion, but to clarify,

I think that the focus usually remains on the 10 (specifically the 4th) because most don't have any problem accepting that it is still immoral to commit incest or things of that nature. Most of those laws were also cultural, tailored to the Israelites and their way of living. Other laws dealt with the priesthood and all associated activities.

So in other words, the ten are the ones most discussed because the ten include the sabbath commandment which has become a point of contention among christians.

Good morning Ricardo.

I have a suggested reading, from the book of the month club. For some reason,I don't think it is your favorite.

2 CORINTHIANS 3:
7 Now if the ministry of death, chiselled in letters on stone tablets, came in glory so that the people of Israel could not gaze at Moses’ face because of the glory of his face, a glory now set aside

11for if what was set aside came through glory, much more has the permanent come in glory!

What was written on stone?

What was set aside?
