God never told Adam that he couldn't touch it, etc...

Believe what you like, just make sure that it is not your own sin that wants to be so quick to automatically condemn the woman, etc...

God Bless!
God did tell Adam not to eat it.
And Eve was told not to eat it or even touch it.
The consequence being death.
Read the scriptures and stop making up your own version that you prefer (itching ears).

I never condemned the woman, did you not read my answer to the OP on this thread?
I'll believe Gods word over man's that's for sure.

Actually it does. Read it.

Genesis 3
6 The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too. 7 At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
It depends on what translation you are using, I have one that reads "Afterward, she also gave some to her husband when he was with her, and he began eating it."

And I think it is more accurate in this case, etc...

Otherwise, you have to explain the difference between the commandments about it, and between what God actually told Adam in Genesis 2 before the woman was made, and how Eve came to understand it differently in that it was added to, in Genesis 3, etc, which was a part of the serpents temptation with Eve, etc...

The serpent is crafty, and knew Adam had added to the commandment about it with Eve, etc...

If Adam was there the whole time, then he probably could have stopped it, and told Eve the truth that she would not die when she touched it, etc, it only makes a lot more sense if he wasn't right there at that exact time, etc...

But, believe what you wish, I personally don't think Adam was right there the whole entire time, etc...

God Bless!

So what version do you have?
I personally prefer the translations that are as close to the original Hebrew and Greek as possible. The original languages often say a lot more than the English translations.

Read the scripture I inserted above.
It doesn't specifically show God having the same conversation with Eve as he did with Adam. But it does show they were both aware of the command and the consequence of their actions should they disobey Gods command.

Here are some internet links by some reputable sites if you wish to explore this issue further, etc...

These come from a google search "was adam with eve when she was tempted?", If you want to look into it even further, etc...

Opinions vary greatly on this subject, etc...

And I guess I have chosen the one that makes the most sense to me, etc...

Take it for what you will, etc...

Scripture also states that Adam was not deceived also (1 Timothy 2:14) but that woman (Eve) was thoroughly, etc, which they get into some in the links I just provided, etc, and if Adam was not deceived, it wouldn't make sense that he would just stand idly by while Eve was being "thoroughly deceived" , etc...

God Bless!

I think her wanting to be god to know good and evil made her evil. The serpent said you won’t die you will be like God knowing both good and evil.
Isaiah 14:14 "I will ascend above the highest clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” In Genesis 3:5 we read: "you will be like God". We are given gifts, talents and abilities and we need to use them to bring praise, honor and glory to God. There is NOTHING better then to worship God.

The problem is when we try to draw attention to ourselves. We are a vessel for God to use for His good purpose.

Like I said I prefer what the scripture actually says than human opinions.
You do know the assumption that Eve was the one tempted directly, and therefore is entirely responsible for the fall has led to religious fanatics declaring women as evil for centuries? (Of course, this is "the curse" of death from Genesis 3). But both Eve and Adam disobeyed God and ate of the fruit that caused death.

When the curse of death was upon them, this is what God told the serpent, Adam and Eve.
The person God is referring to who is to break the curse of death is Jesus Christ.

Genesis 3
14 Then the Lord God said to the serpent,

“Because you have done this, you are cursed
more than all animals, domestic and wild.
You will crawl on your belly,
groveling in the dust as long as you live.
15 And I will cause hostility between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring.
He will strike[b] your head,
and you will strike his heel.”
(=Jesus)
16 Then he said to the woman,

“I will sharpen the pain of your pregnancy,
and in pain you will give birth.
And you will desire to control your husband,
but he will rule over you.[c]”

17 And to the man he said,

“Since you listened to your wife and ate from the tree
whose fruit I commanded you not to eat,

the ground is cursed because of you.
All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.
18 It will grow thorns and thistles for you,
though you will eat of its grains.
19 By the sweat of your brow
will you have food to eat
until you return to the ground
from which you were made.
For you were made from dust,
and to dust you will return.”

By the way, you didn't tell me what version you have? I suspect because it says the same thing as mine and you don't want to admit you've created a fallacy in your mind.

And it sounds like you are not being 100% neutral or objective...

I gave you some information if you wanted to look into it some more, etc...

If you do not want to, then that is on you and not me...

@Pipp@

I do have a version of the Bible that says that, and it is the one I learned on a very, very long time ago now, etc, but it is not the only reason that I think Adam was not there the whole entire time Eve was being tempted by the serpent, for there are a whole myriad of other reasons for that also, and I have chosen the one that makes the most sense to me, etc...

God Bless!

Why would I be neutral or objective with Gods word? It's the truth.

If you want to be influenced by your feelings and read into scripture something that's not even there, that's entirely your prerogative - but don't expect me to do the same.

Again, you're avoiding the question of what version of the bible you're referring to?

If you can't answer that then all I see is someone who's trying to validate their version of events with nothing to back up the claim.

Was Eve the first one to sin...?

Does it matter, since we already see how they all tried to play the "blame game" afterwards, etc...?

God Bless!

No it doesn't and that was exactly my point. They both disobeyed Gods command and ate from the tree that led to death.

That's not what is going on here with me, you maybe, but not me...

Ok, how about this, if you believe 1 Timothy 2:14, that Adam was not deceived, but Eve was, etc, then why would Adam; well, sit or stand idly by for one, and then for another, if he absolutely knew the serpent was lying, and he was not tricked or deceived by the serpents words at all, and it was not a temptation for him, then why would he or did he eat of it, etc...?

Just answer that one for me please, ok...

God Bless!

You all will incorrectly judge me for it, since it is a religious organization that I forsook a long, long time ago now, etc...

Look into the links I provided, or plug the information into Google yourself, and decide for yourself, etc, or answer the question in my post to you just now about Adam not being deceived, and give us your answer for it maybe...?

You've now put me in a position that I might end up "reading into" what the bible says.

All I will say is, Eve was decieved by the serpent and Adam took the fruit from her when she offered it to him - so instead of obeying God, he listened to his wife. Don't forget that Adam was the original first born Son, his duty was to listen to God first.

I completely agree with you right now in this case, and with this post, and it contradicts absolutely nothing of what I have just been saying right now also, etc...

OK so no mention of what version of the bible you're referring to?

My aim was not to judge you, but look at comparing what the versions said.

Love (or lust) can make people do some pretty crazy things sometimes, etc...

Like directly disobey God when you already fully know better, etc...
