"God, ...hath shined in our hearts,"
as clear as day to those who walk in His marvelous light
This is most likely one of your most bizzar comments and beliefs. The light of Christ, the light that we walk in, is an external light. We can only walk "in" a light, if it is external to us.
wrong as usual in this talk. Your answers are becoming more desperate and strained and very wrong. The verb to shine doesn't necessarily mean the subject of the verb is the source of light. eg. "John shined the light into the room". (John is not the source of light).
The "shined in our hearts" is directly connected to the next clause "TO give the light of the knowledge", making it obvious that the light God shined into our hearts is the light of knowledge of Christ. There is only one light spoken of in this passage, not two. The light of the gospel is the treasure IN earthen vessels, not the light of Christ.
You are again in error. God himself shines in our hearts. God is Light and the light that shines from him is given in our hearts,This light gives knowledge and understanding and the gospel is also the gospel OF Christ. Christ in you is the hope of glory.
The light of Christ, the light that we walk in, is an external light. We can only walk "in" a light, if it is external to us. There are dozens of verses that confirm the light of Christ is external. You have not provided a single one that says it is internal.
John 3:19-21
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved... But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 12:45-47
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
1 John 2:10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
It says nothing of the sort. There is no "also". You are adding to scripture. It says:
"Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.".
wrong, he includes all past present and future,You are plainly wrong. Paul was not speaking about Old Testament times in Romans 10. He uses present and future tenses. He is referring to people in the current dispensation. The "Lord" in Romans 10:13 is referring to the "Lord Jesus" v9.
"Find him" doesn't mean saved. Paul is talking about finding out that God exists..
The light of Christ, the light that we walk in, is an external light. We can only walk "in" a light, if it is external to us.
Lets look at Colossians 3:15 and 16 again
"15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."
If men come together as "one body" in assemblies and they do not have Gods peace ruling in their hearts they are then in a restless spirit or the flesh and sin.
Peace implies silence in his words and believers coming before God in silence and waiting on the Lord for all good things.
they also are to examine themselves in silence in the meetings as we read
1 Corinthians 11:28
"But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup."
and this self examining can be as we gather in ministry and all things as well, for Paul said to the Corinthians
"16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
Then, after they have examined themselves and come to let Gods peace rule in their heart to dispell the darkness and busy restlessness of their carnal minds can they hope to have any edification for themself or others in Christ . They also will need confession and self examination in this process at times. . Then, when they “let” the peace of God “rule” in thier hearts, they are to be called together in one body. This refers to the assembly of the saints and the way all are to walk in God's order here.
Where Jesus Christ is in believers he speaks His word as well. Yes the word can be heard in our spirit and as we also hear from scripture. But the inward work is of God working in us.
"God, ...hath shined in our hearts,"
as clear as day to those who walk in His marvelous light
I never disdain true teachers who are given as gifts to the church. But teachers also must learn all things by the anointing which teacheth them all things and works in them. They , like all believers must have God working in them to make them perfect working in them that which is well pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ.
What I warn against is mans order and forms and the very things Jesus Paul, John Peter and others warn about.
"4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words....8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ"(Colossians 2:4,8 KJV)
Matthew 6:5
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward."
"26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him."(1 Jophn 2:26,27 KJV)
1 John 1:5. “...God is light,”
Acts 2:3. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
1 Corinthians 1:24,30,31 KJV "But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God...30. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31. That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”
We read about the candle and the one who lights the candle. The candle is our spirit or inner man. The Lord lights that candle or He gives us the light of Him the light of life and we are then the children of light. The expression the that the Lord searches our inward parts refers to God working and leading and guiding and discerning all our inward parts as we listen in spirit. We are also told to guard our heart for out of it are the issues of life. It is by the Light of God enlightening us that we can examine ourselves and know our way if we are in God or not.
In Christ we are in God and God works through our spirit, we read
Job 29:3 KJV
"When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness;"
Jesus spoke of this candle and light and the light that is IN us as well, He is speaking spiritual truth here using the examples of candles and other means. Those who have ears to hear let them hear. The candle is our spirit lighted by God, the candle stick may refer to our bodies and our outward witness in the earth. By the body full of light, this may refer to our inner man our heavenly body filled with Gods light.
"33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. 34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. 35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. 36 If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light."(Luke 11:33-36 KJV)
Part of your problem here is that you do not hear God's voice inwardly (by your own admission) and so you rush off to men and commentaries and your human reasoning to find answers. I am not saying we cannot read and hear from other people. But this is not how all believers are taught in the primary rule ( to find out what the primary rule is read my first post again).
And in doing this you have "respect" for men. This is sin as scripture shows.
Your correction...
James 2:1
"My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons."
James 2:1
"9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors."
Romans 2:11
"For there is no respect of persons with God."
Wrong again an a horrible interpretation and scriptural expounding.Only when you show the words out of context as you have done here, omitting the rest of the verse where it clearly tells us what the light is:
"to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
Yes it does Read it again maybe 100 times in prayer. That passage doesn't say wisdom is the light of Christ.
While we can agree that men like Paul and Peter and John and others were given specific ministries to write scripture and not all were given such a ministry, even the other apostles, this by no means sows that others could not have the word of God in them and that the word of God could not come out of them also.
And when Paul talked of Christ speaking in him which in them was mighty, he is referring to Jesus Christ in them vs 13:5.
Do you suppose that if Jesus Christ is in believers that he does not speak to them? If they pray and he hears do not all believers expect an answer from him Jesus he speaks in all believers. Jesus said my sheep hear my voice. They hear in their hearts. Paul hear in his heart as well.
We see that they did have the word of God come out from them as well in scripture. And in this passage Paul is implying that other churches also had the word of God come out from them
"36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?"(1 Cor 14:36 KJV)
They also spoke forth Gods word in prophecy and through apostles and prophets and teachers and evangelist and pastors.
"29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
Paul didn't say that Christ speaking in him was evidence of His apostleship specifically. He said that for them or him to know that Jesus Christ was in them, was evidence that they are in the faith and not reprobates,
"5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates."(2 Cor 13:5 KJV)
Paul even says "not that we should appear approved"
"7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates."(2 Cor 13:5 KJV)
the evidence of Paul's apostleship is in other places, He says
"2 If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord."(1 Cor 9:2 KJV)
